What Time Predator: Killer Of Killers Releases On Hulu

Sci-fi fans are very excited for Predator: Killer of Killers, and this is exactly when audiences can check out the animated anthology on Hulu. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, Killer of Killers takes the underlying concept of Prey and takes it to another level by expanding the focus of the story. The film pits the iconic Predators against great warriors from across history in a stunning animated form, without losing any of the brutality fans have come to expect from the series.

It’s an exciting film that brings a new edge to the franchise, embracing the animated nature for a brutal and mesmerizing effect. The fact that Predator: Killer of Killers was only formally announced a few months ago makes it all the more exciting, as fans have been eagerly awaiting the film’s Hulu drop. Here’s exactly when fans can check out Predator: Killer of Killers on Hulu.

Predator: Killer Of Killers Releases At 3am ET On Thursday, June 6

Fans On The West Coast Can Do Personal Midnight Screenings

Predator Killer Of Killers Fight

Predator: Killer of Killers debuts on Hulu at 3:00 AM EST/12:00 AM PST on June 6. This follows a typical trend with streamers like Netflix and Hulu, who tend to drop new films at midnight on the west coast. The film, which focuses on three different killers from across human history coming into conflict with a Predator, is set to follow suit. Each segment is between 20 and 30 minutes, building to a mᴀssive finale.

The brutal and visually stunning Killer of Killers definitely has a “midnight release” vibe, so fans might be able to justify staying up (or getting up early) to check out the film as soon as it drops. It’s also something to keep in mind if families have access to Hulu through Disney+ and find themselves looking at a roaring alien when they log into the app. In other parts of the world, Predator: Killer of Killers will also debut on June 6, and will be available through the Star hub.

Why Predator: Killer Of Killers Is Releasing On Hulu, Not In Theaters

Prey May Have Set A Precedent For Predator’s Future

Predator: Killer of Killers isn’t the first Predator movie to debut on the streaming service. In 2022, Dan Trachtenberg’s previous film, Prey, also went straight to the streamer instead of hitting the big screen. While no formal reason has been given for why Killer of Killers is coming straight to Hulu, there are likely a few factors at play. First, this allows the film to avoid the theatrical compeтιтion it would other face coming out the same weekend as the John Wick spin-off, The Ballerina.

While the Predator series has often been a safe bet at the box office, the shift to animation may have given the producers pause on sending the new film to theaters. There’s also the fact that releasing a violent and gory animated film, tangentially connected to the Disney banner (the film is being released by 20th Century, which is now a subsidiary of Disney), might go against the company’s plans for the summer. Animation has become an increasingly streaming-centric medium, which might have also played a role in the decision.

Killer of Killers might also be attempting to replicate the word-of-mouth that propelled Prey in the cultural conversation when it was released. The critical success of the film led to it becoming a hit for Hulu, with the easy streaming access leading to a period of pronounced attention. Killer of Killers could achieve a similar success, which in turn could help draw attention towards the upcoming theatrical release of Predator: Badlands later this year, while also ensuring audiences aren’t tired of the Predators by the end of the year.

The film is an absolutely gorgeous action movie, with fantastic fights and great imagery that begs to be seen on the biggest screen possible. Still, it’s just exciting to see the franchise push boundaries and experiment with what made Prey such a breath of fresh air for the franchise. It’s still a shame the film won’t be in theaters, though. Here’s hoping the success of Predator: Killer of Killers is enough to justify a sequel that can hopefully hit theaters before it comes to streaming.
