Predator Reveals What Happened After Prey’s Credits Scene & Sets Up Prey 2

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Predator: Killer of Killers!

Predator: Killer of Killers just featured a mᴀssive reveal, one that explains what happened after Prey‘s credits scene and sets up the story of Prey 2. Throughout its marketing, Predator: Killer of Killers was presented as a stand alone Predator film, with it being an anthology that tells the story of three different Predators who came to Earth in three different time periods. However, Predator: Killer of Killers also contains a fourth segment, one that brings together all three of the segments and ties the animated film into the broader Predator storyline.

Predator: Killer of Killers is the second of the three Predator films from Dan Trachtenberg, with the first being 2022’s Prey and the third being the upcoming 2025 film Predator: Badlands. At the end of Predator: Killer of Killers, Ursa the Viking, Kenji the shinobi, and John Torres the World War II pilot find themselves on a Yautja planet. They are forced into a gladitorial arena, where they must fight each other to the death. Instead, they attempt to escape, with Ursa staying behind so that Kenji and John can fly away. Thus, Ursa is again captured by the Yautja.

Naru Was Captured After The Events Of Prey

She Is Now Being Held On A Yautja Planet

When Ursa is captured, she is placed into a chamber that puts her in suspended animation. The Yautja then take Ursa into a mᴀssive warehouse full of similar chambers, with many of them being full of different alien individuals. This archive of champions seems to be where the Yautja keep those who have successfully killed Predators, with the scope of the room highlighting just how many times this has happened. The camera eventually moves away from Ursa’s chamber, with it eventually focusing on another one. However, this one contains the protagonist of Prey, Naru.

Thus, it is clear that sometime after Naru killed the Predator in Prey, more Yautja came to Earth and abducted her. This was actually set up by the credits of Prey, which featured art that depicted several more Predator ships arriving on Earth. While this was clearly teasing a Prey sequel, many fans ᴀssumed that it meant that Prey 2 would see the Comanche face off against multiple Predators. However, it is now clear that the Predators were abducting Naru, setting up Predator: Killer of Killers‘ final scene.

How Naru Being Captured Sets Up Prey 2

It Could Be About Her Escaping The Planet

Naru’s cameo in Predator: Killer of Killers is small, but it perfectly sets up her story in Prey 2. The sequel film could be about Naru’s escape from the archive of champions, with her attempting to survive on the unfamiliar Predator planet. She could even team up with other Predator killers, such as Ursa, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutch, Adrien Brody’s Royce, and more.

This Prey 2 storyline could also conclude Predator: Killer of Killers‘ cliffhanger ending. At the end of the film, the Predator Warlord sends multiple Predator ships after Kenji and John’s ship. However, we never see if they managed to escape. Naru could bump into the two survivors in Prey 2, with the film acting as a sequel to both Predator stories.

What We Know About Prey 2

Prey 2 Has Not Been Confirmed

Very little is known about the status of Prey 2, outside of the fact that many people want it to happen. Actors Amber Midthunder and Bennett Taylor have both expressed interest in coming back for a sequel, although Midthunder said “I don’t know what’s happening” in regards to a sequel in March 2025.

Unfortunately, Prey 2 has not been confirmed, and it doesn’t look like it will be happening anytime soon. Dan Trachtenberg has instead been focused on directing Predator: Killer of Killers and Predator: Badlands, meaning that a potential Prey 2 wouldn’t happen until after the November 2025 film. It seems more likely that Naru’s story could be continued in Predator: Badlands, continuing her Prey story after her cameo in Predator: Killer of Killers.
