What This Means For Mortal Kombat 2
The Trailer For Mortal Kombat 2 Is тιԍнтly Under Wraps
So far, only a handful of images and exclusive footage at CinemaCon have been shared. In the comments to his post, Garner responded to frustrated fans who have been waiting for more teasers and promotional material ahead of the movie’s release, stressing “imagine how I feel.” He also offered an optimistic comment about his “hope” for an R-rated spinoff series or movies after Mortal Kombat 2‘s release. However, when fans pressed him to unveil footage from the trailer, he shared a previously released image of Johnny Cage, confirming that the scene would be in the trailer.
It’s likely that at this time, Garner isn’t at liberty to unveil any new images, which means the plot details and character information for the new Mortal Kombat movie are currently under тιԍнт wraps, especially with the heavily anticipated tournament taking the central stage. In the comments, Garner also clarified that the movie has been “finished” and they’re not at the stage of adding any final touches. This indicates that the July release of Mortal Kombat 2‘s trailer isn’t directly related to post-production.
Our Take On Mortal Kombat 2’s Trailer Release Window
Mortal Kombat 2’s Trailer Could Reveal Key Information About The Movie
While Garner has teased a release window and a finished trailer, he didn’t offer the exact date and time when new footage will arrive, which keeps the anticipation high after years of waiting. On the other hand, as we’re getting closer to Mortal Kombat 2‘s arrival, more information will likely become available.
Not releasing the trailer this month doesn’t mean the movie is lacking promotional efforts. More breadcrumbs could be dropped in between now and then as the buildup continues. Recently, screenwriter Jeremy Slater teased overwhelmingly positive reactions from the audience who attended the test screenings. The top secrecy right now is a good sign that Mortal Kombat 2 has something big in store.
