New Prime Video Action Movie With 93% RT Score Quickly Climbs Streaming Charts Just Days After Release

A new Prime Video action movie has quickly climbed the streaming charts, just days after premiering. Incorporating original and Amazon MGM Studios content, among other movies and TV shows, Prime Video houses many popular releases, including Red, White, & Royal Blue and Totally Killer. The streaming service has also adapted various Tom Clancy novels and characters in Without Remorse and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Another successful Prime series is Reacher, starring Alan Ritchson, which has been praised by audiences for its stunt work and fight sequences.

Prime Video continues releasing action-heavy movies, most of which perform well statistically and feature recognizable actors. The Tomorrow War, following Dan Forester (portrayed by Chris Pratt) as he fights a futuristic battle, set viewership records in 2021 and led to sequel development. Since then, Prime has launched a highly successful Road House remake, as well as Canary Black and the Viola Davis action thriller G20.

Deep Cover Is Already Charting On Streaming

The Action Movie Recently Released On Prime Video

Prime Video recently released Deep Cover, an action comedy starring Bryce Dallas Howard, and it is already gaining traction. Directed by Tom Kingsley, the film follows undercover improv actors ᴀssisting a police operation in London, getting caught up in criminal activity. Along with Howard, the cast of Deep Cover includes Orlando Bloom, Nick Mohammed, Paddy Considine, Sean Bean, and Ian McShane. After premiering on June 12, the movie was met with critical praise and currently has a score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

While it debuted a few days ago, Deep Cover is quickly garnering viewership and climbing a major streaming chart on Prime Video. Deep Cover is presently number three in the Top 10 in the U.S. chart, behind only The Accountant 2 and the Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks series The Better Sister, and ranks ahead of The Accountant and Tom Cruise’s 2013 sci-fi film Oblivion. Other тιтles currently on the Top 10 chart include Clarkson’s Farm season 4, Motorheads, The Beekeeper, CHiPs, and White Chicks.

What This Means For Deep Cover

Prime Video Has Another Hit Action Movie

Deep Cover 2025 Film 3

The quick success of Deep Cover signals that Prime Video may have another hit in the making. Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how long it occupies the Top 10 and if it can reach number one or two. The critics-based RT score and positive Popcornmeter, which is currently at 78%, suggest that most audiences will enjoy Deep Cover, and given how previous movies have performed on the streamer, a sequel might be possible if strong viewership continues.
