Where To Watch The Phoenician Scheme: Showtimes & Streaming Status

The Phoenician Scheme is the latest film from master stylist and auteur director Wes Anderson. Taking after some of his more adventure-slanting projects like The Darjeeling Limited and The Grand Budapest H๏τel, the film is a spy action comedy starring the unexpected duo of Zsa-Zsa Korda and his daughter, Liesl. Liesl, a nun, is named the sole heir to her businessman father’s exorbitant fortune despite their estrangement, and the pair wind up targets of tycoons, terrorists, and ᴀssᴀssins, and will go to great lengths to evade them.

As typifies Wes Anderson’s work, The Phoenician Scheme is stocked with an impressive cast list. At the heart of this team is Benicio del Toro, who plays Zsa-Zsa opposite Andersonian newcomer Mia Threapleton’s Liesl. Joining this dynamic duo are Michael Cera, Scarlett Johansson, Willem Dafoe, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Riz Ahmed, F. Murray Abraham, Scott Shepherd, and Steve Park, among others. This is Anderson’s first feature since 2023’s Asteroid City, and here is everything to know about its release and streaming information.

The Phoenician Scheme Releases In Theaters On June 6, 2025

It Had A Limited Release This Past Weekend

The Phoenician Scheme‘s wide release starts on June 6, 2025. This follows the movie’s limited release this past weekend, with it already available in select theaters. The movie has also been seen by select critics, as it premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival last month. As is typical with major releases these days, the wide release of The Phoenician Scheme technically starts one day early, on Thursday, June 5. The film is rated PG-13 for violent content, bloody images, some Sєxual material, ɴuᴅᴇ images, and smoking throughout. The movie has a 1-hour and 41-minute run time, which tends to be standard for Anderson films.

When Will The Phoenician Scheme Release On Streaming?

The Movie Will Stream On Peacock

Benicio del Toro in The Phoenician Scheme Exclusive Still Featured ScreenRant

The Phoenician Scheme is being released by Focus Features, which is owned by Universal. As such, it will eventually be put out on this company’s streaming service, Peacock. Peacock currently hosts other key Focus Features тιтles, including this year’s well-reviewed Black Bag. Anderson has a significant fan base behind him, so his work will likely draw in some significant viewership come streaming release time.

As for when it might actually hit streaming, the past data suggests that Peacock subscribers need not wait too long. If it follows in line with Asteroid City, The Phoenician Scheme may come to Peacock around August. Asteroid City had a similar release date — June 13, 2023 — and ended up on streaming on August 11. That said, box office considerations could affect this release date. Asteroid City made $53.8 million worldwide, considerably less than тιтles like The Grand Budapest H๏τel. If The Phoenician Scheme does well, its theatrical exclusivity could last longer.

When Will The Phoenician Scheme Release On Digital?

This Will Come Before Streaming

In a similar vein to its quick streaming release date, Asteroid City also had a fast digital arrival, happening in July 2023. In fact, the movie took 28 days (less than one full month) to come to digital after hitting movie theaters. If The Phoenician Scheme follows the same pattern, it will also see a digital release date sometime in July. Ultimately, the box office will be even more predictive of the digital release than even the streaming release. If it takes off, Focus Features and Universal may be apt to wait on its digital release.
