“Thank You For Making My Journey…Unforgettable”: Chris Hemsworth Shares Thor Video Ahead Of Avengers: Doomsday & Reignites Fears His MCU Story Is Ending Soon

A new Thor video reignites fears that the Marvel Cinematic Universe hero’s story might be coming to an end soon. Chris Hemsworth holds an MCU record, with Marvel’s Thor franchise leading all other heroes in terms of solo movies with 4. While Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will tie Thor next year with his fourth film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Hemsworth’s God of Thunder has been announced as part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast, while Peter Parker was nowhere to be seen. However, the upcoming MCU movie could be the final time Thor is seen in the franchise, judging by a new video.

On YouTube, Chris Hemsworth shared an emotional Thor video to celebrate his MCU journey.

The video goes through Thor’s entire MCU timeline, including solo films, Avengers appearances, and more. There are also a lot of behind-the-scenes moments with MCU stars like Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and even Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige. Alongside the emotional video, Hemsworth also shared a statement about his time in the franchise, where he claims playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of his life. The actor ends the statement with, “Next up, [Avengers:] Doomsday!“. Check out the full quote below:

“Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I’ve held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your pᴀssion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me.

Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday!”

What Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Video Means

The God Of Thunder’s Words Reignite Fears That Thor Will Die

During a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair, Chris Hemsworth made it seem that if Thor was to return, then it might be time for the hero to die. According to the actor, if he were to come back, “it’d probably be the finale” of Thor’s MCU journey. Hemsworth even went a step further by describing the hero’s journey, saying, “You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero.” Based on those comments, fans have long been wondering whether Thor would die in the MCU.

Three years later, Hemsworth was the first actor announced as part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast. The movie marks his return to the MCU, and judging by his past comments, it could very well end his character’s story. Now, the actor adds fuel to that fire with his new Thor video and statement. The emotional video chronicles his journey in the franchise, and Hemsworth’s words sound a lot like a goodbye to the fans as he prepares to bring Avengers: Doomsday to life, which is currently in production. Based on all those factors, Thor could die soon.

Our Take On Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Video

Thor’s Death Would Be Mᴀssive For Avengers: Doomsday

I feel like it’s starting to look a lot like Hemsworth’s Thor is not going to survive Avengers: Doomsday. The Avengers movies have had some major deaths over the years, including two of the original members of the team, Black Widow and Iron Man. Thor dying in Avengers: Doomsday would fall in line with that, and since Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is in the film, he could be reunited with his brother before pᴀssing. That said, while Hemsworth’s words sound like a goodbye, perhaps it could just be a way of honoring Thor as Avengers: Doomsday filming rages on.

The Thor franchise is a key component of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), focusing on the Asgardian god of thunder, Thor Odinson. The series explores Thor’s journey from a headstrong prince to a wise and powerful hero who plays a central role in the Avengers and the broader MCU narrative. The franchise is known for its blend of epic fantasy, Norse mythology, and humor, particularly in the later films directed by Taika Waiтιтi.
