One of the biggest surprises in one of the best MCU movies was the reveal that Cavill was playing a version of Wolverine from an alternate universe. ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was also originally going to use Affleck’s Daredevil, but it did not work out. Now, they team up in Avengers movie art.

The Cavillrine, as ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine called him, sports the same white tank top and jeans combo he did in the R-rated movie. As for Affleck’s Daredevil, the character has an updated design that includes a cape and is different from the scrapped ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine concept art that saw Affleck’s Daredevil and Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider join the Void’s Resistance. Both actors are not part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast, but they could return for Avengers: Secret Wars‘ story.

The Multiverse Saga Allows The Heroes To Return

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine came close to featuring both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. However, the actors could very well appear together for the first time in an MCU movie soon. With the multiverse, anything is possible. Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast proves that with the surprising reveal that many stars from Fox’s original X-Men franchise will be in the movie. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed that not all cast members have been announced for the upcoming Avengers film, which means smaller multiverse roles like Cavill and Affleck could play might be kept a secret.

Even if the stars are not in Avengers: Doomsday, Cavill’s Wolverine and Affleck’s Daredevil could make an appearance a year later, joining the cast of Avengers: Secret Wars. The movie that ends the MCU’s Multiverse Saga is expected to have the longest cast list in the history of MCU productions, pulling from Marvel’s entire live-action legacy, not just the MCU. I think getting Cavill to return as Wolverine is a no-brainer. The actor is famous for his role as DC’s Superman, and after a convincing portrayal of one of Marvel’s iconic heroes, many fans want Cavill to play the MCU’s Wolverine. As for the former Batman, things are more complicated.
