Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Sequel Adds The Crown & Ocean’s 11 Stars

Netflix’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel has added two prominent stars to its cast. Brad Pitt is already confirmed to be reprising his role of Cliff Booth in the David Fincher-directed film, which will serve as a follow-up to the adventures of the fan-favorite Quentin Tarantino character. The movie is based on a script that Tarantino previously wrote and production is expected to begin in July.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan have now joined the cast as well. Both Debicki and Caan’s roles remain under wraps. There are reportedly two key female roles, with one character running a bar and mud wrestling establishment and the other being a trophy wife, but it is unconfirmed if Debicki will be playing either of these characters. Caan’s involvement marks a reunion with Pitt, as the two of them starred in the Ocean’s Eleven movie trilogy together.

What This Means For The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Sequel

The New Characters Are Being ᴀssembled

Debicki and Caan are the first cast members to join Pitt in the surprising sequel. It is a promising sign of progress and of production beginning in July. While Leonardo DiCaprio and other actors from their first movie may reprise their roles, Debicki and Caan will play new characters surrounding Cliff at a different point in his life. As a charismatic stunt double, fixer, and personal ᴀssistant, their characters have the potential to be involved in Cliff’s life through a variety of means, making it exciting to see who they will ultimately play.

Between Princess Diana in The Crown, Ayesha in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and Jordan Baker in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, Debicki has shown tremendous range that makes her well-suited to many roles. Caan has demonstrated his own range from getaway driver Turk Malloy in the Ocean’s movies to Detective Danny “Danno” Williams in the Hawaii Five-O remake and manager Scott Lavin in HBO’s Entourage. Who Debicki and Caan play will ultimately provide more insight into the direction of the story.

Our Take On Elizabeth Debicki And James Caan’s Casting

It Is The Beginning Of Another Impressive Cast

Brad Pitt looks curious and slightly worried in a scene from Once Upon a Time In Hollywood

Given how impressive Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘s original cast was, it is promising to see that the Netflix movie is poised to have an impressive cast as well. From Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to the Ocean’s trilogy, I have enjoyed many of Debicki and Caan’s previous performances, and am intrigued to learn who they will play. I am also intrigued to see if the next cast members to join will be new to Cliff’s story like Debicki and Caan are, or if they are familiar faces from the first Once Upon a Time in Hollywood movie.
