I’m Convinced An Underrated MCU Hero Will Be Key To Defeating RDJ’s Doctor Doom In Avengers: Secret Wars

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is gearing up to introduce its most powerful villain yet, however, there is one seriously underrated hero who will likely play a pivotal role in taking Doctor Doom down in Avengers: Secret Wars. Over the course of the Infinity Saga, the MCU introduced a wide range of heroes. And while the heroes slowly found their way to one another, there was a darker presence moving ever closer to Earth. Eventually, Thanos revealed himself as the almighty threat who would erase half of all life in the universe.

However, thanks to a few brave men and women, the missing people were eventually brought back. While the core Avengers team is often given praise for their role in taking down Thanos, and Iron Man’s sacrifice was ultimately responsible for getting rid of the Mad тιтan for good, there is one other hero who is often overlooked in that story. But without their contributions, the path to victory may have been closed off forever.

Doctor Strange Is One Of The Most Underrated Heroes In The MCU

Doctor Strange Deserves More Recognition

Doctor Stephen Strange is one of the most gifted magic users in the entire MCU. After only a short time practicing the Mystic Arts, Strange went on to become the Sorcerer Supreme, helping to train others and maintain the balance between realms. However, Strange has only had two solo outings in the MCU, and a handful of appearances in other movies. On top of that, Strange was one of the heroes who disappeared in the blip.

And when Strange returned after the blip, his mastery of the mystic arts made him one of the most valuable heroes of all time. He has protected the world from Dormammu, he can access alternate dimensions like the Mirror Dimension and the Gap Junction, and he can wield his powers to influence the multiverse. Despite all of this, Strange is one of the most underrated heroes, who often feels sidelined to appearing in other peoples’ stories.

The Avengers Might Not Have Beaten Thanos If It Wasn’t For Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange Paved The Way For Thanos’ Downfall

In reality, Stephen Strange was blipped during the worst moments of Thanos’ attack. However, prior to the snap, Strange used his incredible powers and understanding of wielding the Time Stone in order to seek out a path forward where the heroes could succeed. Strange explored more than 14 million possible paths through time, and found the one where the heroes could defeat Thanos. With that knowledge, he sacrificed himself, and planted a seed in Tony’s mind that would lead to an eventual win.

Yes, there was hardship, and there was a loss that irreversibly impacted the world and all of its inhabitants, but Strange’s sacrifice put the pieces in place in order to be restored at a later date. His depth of knowledge, understanding, and power all became invaluable in overcoming Thanos, and when it came time to return, Strange was right beside all the other heroes with an army of sorcerers, ready to fight.

Doctor Strange’s Connection To The Multiverse Will Be Invaluable In Bringing Down Doom

Doctor Strange Has A Lot Of Experience With The Multiverse

Now, as The Multiverse Saga approaches its end, Strange has once again appeared in one solo movie, and appeared in other minor cameos. However, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home does show how much the hero has advanced in terms of his powers, despite losing the тιтle of Sorcerer Supreme. In fighting Wanda Maximoff, Strange was able to overcome the powerful Scarlet Witch when the entire Illuminati team of Earth-838 fell.

On top of that, his access to the Gap Junction, which exists between realities, and his connection to powerful multiversal hero America Chavez make him uniquely positioned to help put a stop to Doctor Doom and whatever plans he has to control or destroy the Multiverse. Strange could be the key to finding a way to take down Doom, even if he is not the person who snaps his fingers at the end, or delivers the final blow. Ultimately, without Doctor Strange, the heroes might not stand a chance at taking down Doctor Doom in Avengers: Secret Wars.
