Every Avengers: Doomsday Cast Member So Far, Ranked By How Well They Could Fight Doctor Doom

Avengers: Doomsday‘s impressive cast features powerful heroes and villains, and some of them could fare better against Doctor Doom than others. I was surprised by how Marvel characters of great power, such as the Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, were not announced for the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. That said, the film will include its fair share of impressive players, ranging from MCU stars to returning actors from Fox’s original X-Men franchise, which I’m excited about.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is now the main villain of the Multiverse Saga. As such, the MCU’s upcoming Avengers movies need to do a good job of setting up how much of a threat he is. Avengers: Doomsday’s story will have the biggest challenge in that regard, as it sees the villain’s debut. If he is anything like the comics, Doctor Doom should unite technology with magic, and this list ranks the Avengers: Doomsday characters by how much of a chance they stand against him.

M’Baku

Played By Winston Duke

First up is M’Baku. The character is a great fighter and leader in the Black Panther movies. He should be the King of Wakanda when we next see him, increasing his power.

However, despite his strength and staff, M’Baku is no match for Doom.

25

Joaquin Torres/Falcon

Played By Danny Ramirez

Captain America: Brave New World showed the two sides of the MCU’s new Falcon. Like Sam Wilson, Joaquin Torres is skilled with his mechanical wings and can fly at elevated speeds. However, Joaquin is still too “green” as the Falcon, lacking experience.

24

Red Guardian

Played By David Harbour

Red Guardian is a super-soldier. Due to that, he would probably take some effort to beat. However, Doctor Doom is at a power level that even the MCU’s best super-soldiers would struggle with. As an aging hero, Red Guardian has no chance.

23

Yelena Belova

Played By Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova showed how capable she was in Thunderbolts*. Like her sister, the MCU’s original Black Widow, Yelena is incredibly agile and can take full rooms of enemies alone.

However, defeating Doctor Doom requires more than hand-to-hand fighting.

22

Ava Starr/Ghost

Played By Hannah John-Kamen

Ghost’s biggest power is her ability to become intangible. It would require Doctor Doom to use his genius-level intellect to think of a way to counterattack. However, he would eventually take that skill away, leaving Ghost defenseless.

21

Mystique

Played By Rebecca Romijn

Mystique is a good fighter who has spent a long time with Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants. Her biggest ability is shape-shifting, which could lead to her fooling Doom and trying to kill him before Doom eventually realizes what she’s doing.

20

Sam Wilson/Captain America

Played By Anthony Mackie

Sam Wilson might not be a super-soldier, but he is a great fighter. The MCU’s new Captain America can mix it up in a battle with strategic thinking, hand-to-hand combat, shield moves, and Vibranium wings.

However, Doctor Doom is too powerful for him.

19

John Walker/US Agent

Played By Wyatt Russell

John Walker ranks higher than Sam Wilson and Red Guardian because he is a super-soldier in peak shape. Thunderbolts* showed some of his impressive feats, like taking out a room of bad guys alone and jumping extremely high. Doom is more versatile, though.

18

Shuri/Black Panther

Played By Leтιтia Wright

The MCU’s Black Panther needs more screen time to climb up the ranks. However, Shuri managed to beat Namor, who was more powerful than her. That feat and her impressive intelligence would make her an interesting foe for Doom.

17

Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier

Played By Sebastian Stan

Thunderbolts* showed how no member of the team had a chance against Sentry. I believe the MCU will put Doctor Doom at a similar power level.

As such, despite his super-soldier strength, Vibranium arm, and years of experience, Bucky loses.
