Where To Watch Lilo & Sтιтch: Showtimes & Streaming Status

Disney’s Lilo & Sтιтch is arriving in theaters Memorial Day weekend 2025, before its digital and streaming releases in a few months. But it is shaping up to be one of the biggest theatrical releases for the entertainment giant in a while, with countless families navigating the opening weekend. Lilo & Sтιтch is the latest addition to Disney’s line-up of live-action remakes, based on the 2002 animated movie of the same name. Like its basis, 2025’s Lilo & Sтιтch is about lonely six-year-old Lilo (Maia Kealoha), who lives with her older sister Nani (Sydney Agudong) after their parents’ deaths in an accident.

Trying to find Lilo a friend, Nani sets out to adopt a dog, but they end up with a chaotic blue creature who is actually an alien on the run from galactic law enforcement. Chris Sanders returns as the voice of Sтιтch, while the rest of 2025’s Lilo & Sтιтch‘s cast is new. Excitingly, Lilo & Sтιтch‘s reviews are glowing, and its box office projections are strong, meaning it should be a heartwarming box office hit. Here is everything you need to know about going to the cinema to see Lilo & Sтιтch on this busy weekend — and getting your tickets sooner rather than later.

When Will Lilo & Sтιтch Release On Streaming?

Lilo & Sтιтch Will Stream On Disney+

Lilo and Sтιтch embrace in the live-action remake

Disney will, of course, eventually release Lilo & Sтιтch on its exclusive streaming platform Disney+, alongside the original animated Lilo & Sтιтch. Lilo & Sтιтch will probably be on Disney+ from mid to late August, based on the history of other releases. A little less than two months after its release, Snow White is not yet available to stream; if a movie were to get a slightly earlier at-home release it would probably be Snow White, due to its commercial failure, with Disney not really standing to gain anything by keeping it in theaters a while longer.

Most of the time, Disney movies, including the live-action remakes, make it to streaming approximately 100 days after their theatrical release. In the last several months, Mufasa: The Lion King went to streaming after 96 days, and Moana 2 after 105 days. 2023’s The Little Mermaid, another recent live-action remake, was 103 days. With many kids going back to school in late August and early September, Lilo & Sтιтch could bookend the summer, becoming available on Disney+ around this time.

When Will Lilo & Sтιтch Release On Digital?

Lilo & Sтιтch Will Probably Be Available To Buy On Amazon First

Most major releases become available digitally before they settle on a streaming platform, with Amazon being the biggest outlet to purchase or rent. For the comparable Disney movies mentioned above, the wait time for digital was about 60 days, so Lilo & Sтιтch will likely be available on Amazon in some form in July. At this point, it may only be available for purchase or will cost more than a few dollars to rent. However, many are likely to go enjoy Lilo and Sтιтch’s wild shenanigans in theaters first, forgoing the wait.
