James Gunn’s Superman may have an early screening that will allow some fans to watch the DCU movie almost a week earlier. Gunn’s Superman is set to release on July 11 2025 — seven months after Creature Commandos, a month before Peacemaker season 2, and a year before 2026’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Expectations are high for Superman, as it’s the DCU’s first live-action movie and the beginning of a hopefully long journey for the Man of Steel and various other characters. Superman is also one of only two DCU entries released in 2025; therefore, it needs to make a good impression before the next round of projects begins.
A month before Superman‘s worldwide release, Amazon and DC Studios have partnered for a Superman advance screening, set to take place on July the 8th, four days before James Gunn’s DCU movie hits theaters worldwide. Those interested in the Superman early screening need to have an Amazon Prime account and reserve tickets for Superman‘s advance screening on PrimePremiere when they become available. Whether July 8th will be Amazon’s only early screening for Superman is yet to be confirmed.
What Amazon Prime’s Early Screening Means For Superman
Amazon Prime’s Superman Advance Screening Is A First For DC
Amazon Prime’s early screenings on PrimePremiere are a recent invention. As of May 18, tickets for Superman are not available on PrimePremiere, though the most recent early screening event is still promoted on the website. Gavin O’Connor’s The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, had a similar early access event to Superman on April 15, ten days before its April 25 worldwide release. Tickets for Superman‘s early screening may become available on PrimePremiere some time in June.
Future theatrical DC installments may receive similar early screenings, if Amazon’s PrimePremiere proves successful. This kind of openly available access to blockbuster movies denotes trust in each project’s quality and offers a treat for die-hard fans. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Clayface, and Matt Reeves’ The Batman – Part II might have advanced screenings for Amazon Prime users as well.
Our Take On Amazon Prime’s Early Superman Screening
Positive Word Of Mouth Is Key To Superman’s Success
James Gunn’s Superman has done a great job building hype with its marketing. In July, it will be the finished film’s job to win over audiences and start a strong theatrical run in order to prove that James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU is set on strong foundations. An early screening that kicks off a wave of positive and organic reviews and social media reactions might be the best way to entice potential viewers to watch Superman when it officially hits theaters worldwide.
