Denzel Washington & Robert Pattinson To Star In Their First Movie Together, And It’s A Bank Heist Thriller

Robert Pattinson and Denzel Washington are now set to star in their first movie together. Pattinson got his start in young adult franchise movies, first playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and then taking the role of Edward Cullen in the mᴀssively popular Twilight franchise. After the conclusion of Twilight, he has starred in other blockbusters like 2022’s The Batman, but he has also worked in smaller projects with a number of notable directors and co-stars including The Lighthouse (opposite Willem Dafoe), The King (opposite Timothée Chalamet), and High Life (opposite Juliette Binoche).

His newest co-star would certainly count among those notable names. There have been a great number of both critically and commercially successful Denzel Washington movies. In addition to blockbusters such as the Equalizer trilogy, Unstoppable, Safe House, and American Gangster helping push his filmography’s cumulative worldwide box office haul past $4.9 billion, the star has won two Oscars (for Glory and Training Day) in addition to nine other nominations as either an actor or producer.

Pattinson And Washington Have Joined The Cast Of A New Heist Movie

The Project Is Coming To Netflix

Netflix’s Here Comes the Flood has achieved a major casting coup. The streamer’s upcoming heist movie, which is being helmed by director Fernando Meirelles (who previously made 2019’s The Two Popes), will follow the tangled web woven between a bank guard, a thief, and a bank teller. It was written by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 2009’s Sherlock Holmes) and has executive producer Samson Mucke attached alongside producers Mereilles, Kinberg, and Audrey Chon (the latter two of whom are working through Genre Films).

Here Comes the Flood shares a тιтle with a 1977 song by Peter Gabriel.

Per ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, Netflix announced during their Upfront presentation that Here Comes the Flood has added Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Daisy Edgar-Jones to the cast. It is currently unknown which characters the trio of actors will play, but they will presumably portray the three leads in the upcoming heist thriller. This marks the first time that Washington and Pattinson have made a movie together, though Pattinson previously starred in Tenet opposite Washington’s son John David Washington.

What This Means For Here Comes The Flood

It Has ᴀssembled A Promising Cast

In addition to marking the first film collaboration between the two well-known actors, Here Comes the Flood harnesses the genre skillsets that both Robert Pattinson and Denzel Washington have shown in previous thrillers such as Good Time and Man on Fire respectively. While previous Daisy Edgar-Jones movies have not offered the rising Twisters star quite as much experience in the genre, she will be offered the opportunity to show off her range opposite two undeniable talents, which makes the project seem entirely promising as a whole.
