First Look At Lex Luthor’s Warsuit In Superman Revealed By DC Movie Merch

New DC Universe merchandise for the Superman movie reveals Lex Luthor in his iconic Warsuit. As the DCU is getting ready to reimagine the Man of Steel on the big screen, with David Corenswet in the role, Clark Kent’s most famous nemesis is making his return this summer. Nicholas Hoult will be playing the next live-action version of Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman film. With Superman getting closer to its release, more merchandise for the movie keeps emerging, and the latest one may tease a huge plot point for Lex.

While previous Superman trailers have showcased that LexCorp has a variation of the famous Lexosuit from the comics, new DCU merchandise (via Target) reveals Lex donning the warsuit, too. Check out the gallery below for the collection, which also includes new figures for Superman, Metamorpho, Mister Terrific, Krypto, and “Baby Joey.”

Target also provided a full description of this particular Superman collection, which reveals the following:

Dive into an epic Super Heroes adventure with the Luthorcorp Lab! This action-packed set includes 6 figures, featuring bold designs and exclusive details like battle damage armor. The lineup includes Superman, Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho, and Lex at 6-inch scale, plus exclusive 3-inch figures of Superman’s loyal sidekick Krypto and the mischievous Baby Joey. Use your Super Heroes skills to find the weak spot, break open the slime-filled cell, and set Krypto and Baby Joey free.

With dynamic articulation, these figures are built for thrilling poses and imaginative storytelling. Whether reenacting iconic battles or creating bold new adventures, this set sparks endless creativity and fun. Pair it with the Fortress of Solitude Battle Set or other Superman toys (sold separately) to take the action to new heights. What Lex Luthor’s Warsuit Means For Superman

With the Superman toy collection from Target revealing Lex in a warsuit, it’s crucial to take into account that just because he has one in merchandise, it doesn’t necessarily confirm that Hoult will wear the suit in the movie. When it comes to major IP blockbusters like Superman, the merchandise is specifically made with the intention to target the kid demographic without necessarily reflecting on what is happening in the actual film. However, it wouldn’t be shocking in this specific case if the story actually does have Lex suiting up at some point, especially after what was seen in the new Superman trailer.

From what the Superman trailers have established about Hoult’s Lex so far, this iteration of the DC antagonist seems more like someone who would be willing to take on the Man of Steel himself in comparison to previous incarnations, like Jesse Eisenberg’s version in the DCEU movie timeline. As this version of Lex is also closer in age to Corenswet’s Superman, the DCU is already making a good case for why the DC icons may have a showdown, hence why Hoult’s character would need to get into a warsuit himself. But until it’s been confirmed, time will tell if the Superman Target collection is just for merchandise or actually hinting at something from the movie.

Our Take On Lex Luthor’s Warsuit In Superman

Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor in Superman

If Hoult’s Lex ends up actually donning the warsuit in Superman, this will be a huge deal since the DCU will be the first time a live-action DC movie has adapted his armor. Live-action DC TV shows like Supergirl and Superman & Lois have shown the fun that comes with Lex getting physically involved in battles, which can finally happen in the DCU timeline. Hopefully, ᴀssuming the warsuit isn’t just for the merchandise, the Superman movie will finally give Lex and Clark a worthy cinematic showdown.
