First Look At Reed Richards & Sue Storm’s Child Revealed In The Fantastic Four: First Steps Funko Figures

Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s child has been revealed through new Marvel Cinematic Universe Funko Pop! figures for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. While The Fantastic Four: First Steps story is not a traditional origin for the four heroes, the MCU will be introducing one of Sue and Reed’s kids, as previous trailers have confirmed that Vanessa Kirby’s heroine is pregnant. With the famous couple having had more than one child in the Marvel Comics canon, it was unclear which would be the first in the MCU – until now.

Since The Fantastic Four: First Steps is only two months away from its release, Funko has revealed several figures of the characters, from the team itself to Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Among them is a first look at Sue and Reed’s son, Franklin Richards. Check it out below:

The Funko figure with Sue Storm shows Franklin in baby clothes that look similar to his parents’ costumes. At the time of this story’s publication, there is no confirmed date for when The Fantastic Four: First Steps Funko figures will be available for purchase, as they are currently only listed as “Coming Soon.”

What The Fantastic Four: First Steps Funko Pop! Reveal Means For The MCU Movie

Franklin’s reveal as part of the Funko Pop! figures for The Fantastic Four: First Steps confirms once and for all that, just like the comics, he will be Sue and Reed’s firstborn. But it also serves as a reminder of how The Fantastic Four: First Steps story stands out from previous live-action versions of the team, as this will be the first time Reed and Sue’s children are adapted on the big screen. With Franklin also making his live-action debut, it showcases that the MCU wants to tap into the deeper lore of the Fantastic Four.

While Franklin has been revealed as a Funko Pop! figure, it remains to be seen if The Fantastic Four: First Steps will only show him as a baby throughout the movie. With the larger scope of the MCU, there could be time jumps or time travel that would allow Marve to show an older Franklin. Given that Franklin Richards is one of Marvel’s most powerful characters, it wouldn’t be shocking if the MCU were to somehow jump a little ahead with him, allowing at least a teenage version to come into play, especially if a surprise actor has already been added to The Fantastic Four: First Steps cast as an older version of Franklin.

Our Take On The Fantastic Four Funko Pop! Reveal

Franklin Richards glowing in Marvel Comics

While time will tell how Franklin Richards fits into the overall story, it’s great to see his proper confirmation for the MCU movie thanks to the Funko Pop! figures. As Marvel Studios keeps revealing more about their Fantastic Four reboot, everything is looking incredibly promising for Marvel’s First Family in the MCU. Hopefully, when The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives this summer, it will be the beginning of a powerful era for Marvel’s First Family, including Franklin, in this franchise for many years to come.
