“You Will See Her Again”: Katee Sackhoff Confirms Bo-Katan’s Return, But Is She In The Mandalorian & Grogu?

2 years after her last appearance in The Mandalorian season 3, Bo-Katan Kryze actor Katee Sackhoff has confirmed the return of her The Mandalorian character in the future of Star Wars after plenty of speculation about Bo-Katan’s involvement in the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Bo-Katan, now the leader of a reclaimed Mandalore, is more vital than ever to the future of the Mandalorians. With The Mandalorian now headed to the big screen, it seems inevitable that Bo-Katan will be involved somehow.

Speaking to ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley, Sackhoff played coy about her role in The Mandalorian and Grogu, although she did confirm the positive future of her character. You will see her again in some form,” she insisted. “That’s all you need to know. Sackhoff then joked about the longevity of her character’s future in The Mandalorian franchise and beyond, sharing that “Dave Filoni cannot get rid of me, because Bo Katan is based off of his wife, so I’ve got some job security.”

This was revealed in conversation about Sackhoff’s upcoming movie, Fight or Flight, which hits theaters on Friday, May 9.

What Bo-Katan’s Return Means For Star Wars

Mandalore’s Future Is Promising

Bo-Katan is a classic case of a Star Wars animated character who has appeared in live-action, going from what some fans might deem a beloved “glup sнιтto” (or, in translation, an utterly random character) to one of the most pivotal characters in The Mandalorian era, which has become one of Star Wars’ most prolific and successful eras since, arguably, the prequel trilogy’s Clone Wars era. Given that Bo-Katan plays a role in both, it makes sense how she’s become so important and so beloved.

This growth for Bo-Katan, with her biggest journey of growth no doubt taking place in 2023’s The Mandalorian season 3, has made it utterly inevitable that she would return to Star Wars, but receiving this confirmation is extremely promising. Mandalorians have become an essential part of the galaxy, and with Bo-Katan leading the charge in the New Republic era, her return promises a crucial focus on Mandalore and its people in the future of the franchise.

Where Will We See Bo-Katan Next?

The Mandalorian And Grogu Is The Most Likely Option

Bo-Katan and Mandalorians stand together in the Season 3 Finale

It’s not exactly clear when we can expect to see Bo-Katan next, although The Mandalorian and Grogu makes the most sense. The star previously stated that she had yet to suit up as Bo-Katan in 2025 specifically, although filming for The Mandalorian and Grogu wrapped in December 2024. This was pointed out by Crowley in their above conversation, which yielded the aforementioned response from her – and makes it a solid possibility that this is where we’ll see her next.

It is, however, worth mentioning that Mandalore isn’t expected to be a huge focus in The Mandalorian and Grogu. The trailer shown at Star Wars Celebration focused entirely on Din Djarin and Grogu working for the New Republic, specifically the Adelphi Rangers under Colonel Ward’s (Sigourney Weaver) command. While there are certainly ways for Bo-Katan and Mandalore to fit into this story, it will be more difficult than the Mandalore-heavy focus we saw in The Mandalorian season 3.

This movie isn’t the only upcoming Star Wars enтιтy that we could see Bo-Katan appear in next, though. Ahsoka season 2 has just started production, and as the new season prepares to detail the all-out war between Grand Admiral Thrawn and, essentially, the rest of the galaxy, it would make sense for Ahsoka Tano to reach out to her ally Bo-Katan for ᴀssistance. Wherever The Mandalorian franchise decides to use Bo-Katan next, there’s no doubt she’ll shine as Mandalore’s new leader.

The Mandalorian and Grogu movie hits theaters May 22, 2026.
