ScreenRant can exclusively reveal new images for the upcoming film Shadow Force. The new action-thriller is about an estranged couple who must go on the run with their son to avoid being murdered by those set to kill them and claim the bounty on their head. The movie is directed by Joe Carnahan and features Kerry Washington, Omar Sy, Jahleel Kamara, Mark Strong, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Ed Quinn. Carnahan co-wrote the script with Leon Chills.

Now, ScreenRant can exclusively reveal new images from Shadow Force. This set of four images gives a closer look at Washington and Sy in their lead roles. In one image, the couple embraces, looking at each other with smiles on their faces. In another, supporting actor Randolph walks outside a market labeled “La Central Plaza de Mercado.” Another image shows a boat approaching an island destination, which appears to be reached in the next image, which shows Washington with two armed guards. Check out the images below:

What This Means For Shadow Force

Colombia Will Be One Key Location

While the Shadow Force trailer gave a good look at the action in the movie, these new images focus on key locations. A portion of the film was sH๏τ in Colombia, which is the setting for these new pH๏τos. There is a wide variety of what types of settings Shadow Force will inhabit. On the one hand, there are coastal and island backgrounds that will give it a nautical feel. On the other hand, the pH๏τo of Randolph shows a more bustling, downtown environment.

One of the pH๏τos shows a more intimate moment between Sy and Washington’s characters. While the movie will focus on action sequences, Shadow Force concentrates on a married couple as the two central characters. As such, the new pH๏τos imply that there will still be time for some more tender moments between the leads. Exactly what the balance is remains to be seen, although it’s known that they are former agents.

Our Take On The Shadow Force Images

Washington Is An Exciting Lead

Kerry Washington is angry as she confronts Mark Strong in Shadow Force trailer

Shadow Force is a good opportunity for Washington to lean into the action side of her career. She has been in action movies before, such as Bad Company, but her more recent projects, like Tyler Perry’s The Six Triple Eight, have gone in a different direction. As such, Washington has a broad acting skillset to pull from going into this movie. This will make the Emmy nominee a strong lead in Shadow Force, where she will have to balance drama with action.

Shadow Force will be released in theaters on May 9.
