Where To Watch Clown In A Cornfield: Showtimes & Streaming Status

The recent run of inventive and entertaining slasher movies marches on with Clown in a Cornfield, and whether you’re interested in getting the full theatrical experience or plan to wait for it to drop on streaming platforms, these are the details you need. Adapted from Adam Cesare’s 2020 novel of the same name, Clown in a Cornfield first debuted at South By Southwest on March 10th, 2025. The movie stars Katie Douglas (Ginny & Georgia) at the head of a cast of relative newcomers alongside well-known actors Kevin Durand and Will Sᴀsso.

As the Clown in a Cornfield trailer proves, the good are as advertised; the movie follows a group of teenagers as they are stalked by the farm town’s mascot, Frendo the Clown. The straightforward slasher is produced by Temple Hill Entertainment (Smile, Smile 2) and Rhea Entertainment, and is directed (and co-written) by Eli Craig, who is best-known for writing and directing the horror comedy cult classic Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Early reviews for Clown in a Cornfield have been excellent, making this one of the more highly-anticipated horror movies of the spring.

When Will Clown In A Cornfield Release On Streaming?

The Timelines For Similar Movies Provide A Hint

A past collaboration between RJLE and Shudder could operate as an indicator of when the highly-rated Clown in a Cornfield might become available on the Shudder platform itself. As it stands, no other major distribution company has picked up the rights, so it should remain with Shudder when it does come to streaming. The supernatural horror movie Little Bites released in theaters on October 4th, 2024, and finally hit the Shudder platform on February 21st, 2025. Following a similar timeline, Clown in a Cornfield should be available for streaming at some point in late August or early September 2025.

When Will Clown In A Cornfield Release On Digital?

It Will Eventually Arrive On The Shudder Platform

Screenrant Sandbox - 2025-05-05T205557.748

Clown in a Cornfield is distributed by RJLE Films and Shudder in what has become an increasingly frequent collaboration. Based on how these distributors have handled independent horror releases like the new clown-tastic slasher, we can make some educated guesses about when it might hit VOD platforms. In fact, the combination is responsible for the release of another film that debuted at South by Southwest 2025, the sci-fi horror Ash, which was directed by Flying Lotus.

Ash debuted the same weekend as Clown in a Cornfield, yet received the earlier wide release date of the two. It received a wide release on March 21st, 2025, less than two weeks after its SXSW debut. Ash first became available for purchase on VOD platforms on April 22nd, just a month after its theatrical release date. Using that same general timeframe, Clown in a Cornfield should become available for purchase or rent in the second week of June, just in time for it to become a true summer horror hit.
