Thunderbolts* BTS PH๏τos And Video Reveal How Lewis Pullman’s Sentry Costume And Cape Looked On Set Without CGI

WARNING: This article include SPOILERS from Thunderbolts*.Lewis Pullman’s Sentry costume in the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally gets a better look through new Thunderbolts* BTS video and pH๏τos. When it comes to Marvel Easter eggs and characters in Thunderbolts* was the proper introduction of Sentry into the MCU timeline, with Pullman bringing the game-changing power-player to the big screen. Outside of toys, the Thunderbolts* movie marketing kept Sentry’s costume under wraps until the film’s release, while putting a bigger focus on his design as The Void.

As Thunderbolts* is in the midst of its opening weekend, Lane Friedman, who worked on the MCU installment in the hair department, shared new BTS material from the Phase 5 finale, including proper looks at Pullman’s Sentry costume. @MCUFilmNews also shared another BTS image featuring Pullman’s Sentry suit alongside several of his Thunderbolts* cast members. Check it out below:

Friedman, whose MCU credits also include Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Ant-Man, shared a post (via @Cosmic_Marvel) that served as a celebration on her work on Thunderbolts*. In one of the slides, Pullman can be seen in the Sentry costume while having the hair and make-up work on him, including after Bob had his hair dyed.

In what she describes as a “weird home video from what little proof I have from that time we worked” on the movie, Friedman (via @Cosmic_Marvel) shared another post to capture some of her moments from the Thunderbolts* shoot. At one point, Pullman can be seen in a full-body sH๏τ with the Sentry costume while also doing wirework.

In @MCUFilmNews’ post, Pullman joined his fellow Thunderbolts* cast members Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova,) Wyatt Russell (John Walker,) Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes,) David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov,) and Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr) in the formerly-known-as-Avengers-Tower set for a pH๏τo opportunity. While his cape is not featured in this Thunderbolts* BTS pH๏τo, it gives Pullman’s Sentry bodysuit a bigger focus.

What The Thunderbolts* BTS PH๏τos And Video Reveal About Sentry’s Costume

Given how long Marvel Studios kept the Sentry’s movie costume hidden, seeing the Thunderbolts* BTS material makes a clear case in how much work was put into adapting his suit from the comics in the world of live-action. From the first image, the material alone for Sentry’s costume makes it one of the best-adapted suits from the Marvel canon. It’s also clear from both the pH๏τos and the image that the Thunderbolts* costume team made sure that the design looked natural for the MCU.

The Thunderbolts* BTS pH๏τos and video also showcase the great color tones of the suit, as fans got a better idea of what it looked like outside the camera lenses. Even if Bob wasn’t donning the suit anymore by the time they reached the Thunderbolts* movie ending, time will tell how it will look next time they see it on the big screen. As Pullman’s Sentry is confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, it remains to be seen if his costume remains the same or if they will use the same one from Thunderbolts*.

Following the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene, it will be even more exciting to see how Bob’s story continues when he returns in Avengers: Doomsday in 2026. Hopefully, more details about Sentry’s future in the MCU after his incredible debut in Thunderbolts* will emerge sooner rather than later.
