Bob, Sentry And The Void Meet Moon Knight, Steven Grant And Jake Lockley In Marvel Crossover Art The MCU Needs To Adapt

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Thunderbolts*A Marvel fan illustrates what a Thunderbolts* and Moon Knight crossover could look like if Lewis Pullman’s Robert Reynolds and Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant met in the MCU. Thunderbolts* drops a few subtle references at previous MCU тιтles, but the biggest nod to other MCU characters comes in Thunderbolts*‘ post-credits scene, which reveals that the New Avengers are being sued by Sam Wilson’s official Avengers team. The New Avengers are set to cross paths with other heroes sooner rather than later, as they’re all confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday.

Digital artist and Marvel fan @Candel645 imagines a friendly encounter between Robert Reynolds and Steven Grant. In the fan-made artwork, Bob and Steven exchange a friendly greeting, while Sentry and Marc Spector intimidate each other, and the Void and Jake Lockley exchange tense looks. What The Bob And Moon Knight Art Means

Thunderbolts & Moon Knight Explore Mental Health Themes

Mental health is at the center of Thunderbolts*‘ story, as Bob’s struggles leads the Thunderbolts to confront their most traumatic memories. In Thunderbolts*, Robert Reynolds’ Void alter ego personifies his depression. Meanwhile, Moon Knight reveals that Marc Spector lives with Dissociative Idenтιтy Disorder, and both Steven Grant and Jake Lockley are alters he developed. Due to Thunderbolts* and Moon Knight‘s similar themes — not to mention both heroes’ nearly-invincible nature — it would be exciting to see Sentry and Moon Knight interact at least once in the MCU.

Our Take On The Bob And Moon Knight Art

Sentry And Moon Knight Could Be A Great MCU Duo

A Sentry and Moon Knight crossover is unlikely at the moment. Robert Reynolds has lost access to his Sentry and Void powers by Thunderbolts*‘ ending, and Jake Lockley has taken over at the end of Moon Knight. Besides, Oscar Isaac wasn’t included in Avengers: Doomsday‘s first official cast announcement. If not in Avengers: Doomsday, then at least one shared Avengers: Secret Wars appearance could bring Sentry and Moon Knight together. Sentry and Moon Knight’s nigh-immortality powers could make them a great ᴀsset for the Avengers in their battle against Doctor Doom.

Sentry and Moon Knight’s powers might make them difficult to handle, as they could easily become overpowered in crossover тιтles. Thunderbolts* avoids making Sentry a clear solution to Avengers: Doomsday‘s conflict by keeping Sentry and the Void contained within Bob. Moon Knight’s whereabouts are currently unknown, but he could show up in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars as an uncooperative Jake Lockley, following Moon Knight‘s ending tease. After Avengers: Secret Wars, Sentry and Moon Knight could have a bigger role on their own, and they could have more opportunities to team up.
