Sons of Anarchy didn’t leave many loose ends in its final episodes, but if a prequel series were to happen, there are some questions it could finally answer. Kurt Sutter’s crime drama TV series Sons of Anarchy took the audience to the fictional town of Charming, California, home to the тιтle motorcycle club. Throughout seven seasons, SAMCRO had different Presidents (first Ron Perlman’s Clay Morrow and later Charlie Hunnam’s Jax Teller), faced different enemies, and saw many casualties, both part of the club and outsiders.
By the end of Sons of Anarchy, Jax was facing too many problems that led to an inevitable ending for him. Gemma’s (Katey Sagal) lies led him to kill a club member, which, per the club’s rules, is punished with meeting Mr. Mayhem a.k.a. death. However, the club’s members couldn’t kill Jax, and they let him do it himself. The spinoff series Mayans M.C. showed a bit of what happened to SAMCRO after Sons of Anarchy, but there are some questions a prequel series could answer.

How Jax & Tara’s Romance Began
Jax & Tara Were The Biggest Romance In Sons of Anarchy
Sons of Anarchy had different romances and couples, but the main one was Jax and Tara (Maggie Siff). At the beginning of the show, Jax welcomed his first child, Abel, with Wendy (Drea de Matteo), though they were separated by then, and Tara had recently returned to Charming after leaving many years ago. Jax and Tara got back together, Tara adopted Abel, they had Thomas, and they got married, but their love story had a tragic ending when Tara was killed by Gemma due to a misunderstanding.
It was revealed throughout the series that Jax and Tara were high school sweethearts, and that Tara’s ᴀssociation with the club caused her some trouble – of course, Jax and Tara caused trouble together, too. It would be interesting to see how Jax and Tara met and how their romance developed when they were young, as well as everything they did together back then.

How Did SAMCRO’s Links To The Irish Begin
SAMCRO Worked Closely With The Irish
SAMCRO had different charters, among them SAMBEL (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Belfast Charter), founded by Keith McGee, one of the First 9. Thanks to this, Jax and the club had a strong connection to Ireland, but they also had business links to this country. Throughout Sons of Anarchy, SAMCRO is ᴀssociated with the True IRA, who sell them illegal Russian-made guns that they later sell to others. However, how the partnership (and problems) between SAMCRO and the IRA began was never explored in the main series.

When Did JT’s SAMCRO Plans Go Wrong
JT Had A Very Different Vision For SAMCRO
Jax’s father, John “JT” Teller, founded SAMCRO alongside Piney Winston, but he had a very different vision for the club than what it ended up becoming. After the death of his youngest son, Thomas, JT began writing a journal that ended up becoming a manifesto тιтled The Life and Death of Sam Crow: How the Sons of Anarchy Lost Their Way. In it, JT expressed his disillusionment with the club, his original ideas for it, the differences between his vision and what the club became, and his hope for Jax not to be involved with the club.
However, it’s unclear exactly what happened to JT that made him decide to write his vision, ideas, and feelings down in a manifesto. A Sons of Anarchy prequel could cover this, adding an extra layer of drama and suspense to the story while also filling all the blanks in JT’s backstory.

Everything About Jax’s Late Brother, Thomas Teller
Thomas Was Jax’s Younger Brother
It was revealed in Sons of Anarchy that the Teller family had a congenital heart defect, carried by Gemma (who even had a big scar on her chest from open-heart surgery). Jax had it too, but it didn’t cause him much trouble, and his son Abel has it too. Jax’s younger brother, Thomas Teller, was also born with it, but he wasn’t as lucky as Jax and Abel. Thomas pᴀssed away at the age of six, and that’s all that’s known about him, but a prequel series could explore his short life, his dynamic with Jax, and how his death impacted the family.

How Clay & Gemma’s JT Betrayal Began
Clay & Gemma Were Behind JT’s “Accident”
JT died in 1993 when he was riding his bike and was hit by a semi-truck, which dragged him 178 yards. JT lived two days after the accident before dying from his injuries. Jax and the audience later learned Gemma and Clay were responsible for JT’s death, sabotaging his bike so he would die while riding it. Gemma later told Nero she resented JT for all his trips to Belfast while Thomas was dying, she hated him after Thomas’ death, and she didn’t want him to pull the club out of the gun business (despite her having no role in the club).
Surely, there was more to that in Gemma and Clay’s decision to murder JT and take over the club, which would be very interesting to watch in a prequel series – from how Gemma and Clay’s affair began, to how JT’s distrust grew and why Gemma and Clay went to lengths to get rid of JT.
