Ben Affleck’s Dance Scene In The Accountant 2 Was So Unexpected, But I Loved It

I expected The Accountant 2 to be much funnier than the first movie, but one specific scene still surprised me. Audiences were first introduced to Ben Affleck’s Christian Wolff in the 2016 film The Accountant. Christian is a great character and positively represents people with autism, but unfortunately worked alone for the majority of the first film. Therefore, in The Accountant 2, it is refreshing to see Christian work closely with both Agent Medina and his brother Braxton, who is played by Jon Bernthal.

Affleck and Bernthal have great chemistry in the sequel, which has led to many positive reviews for The Accountant 2. Screen Rant’s own Graeme Guttmann gave the film a score of 7 out of 10, and The Accountant 2’s Rotten Tomatoes score is much higher than the first movie’s. Several moments in the movie make me desperately want a third Accountant film, but one scene stands out the most. About halfway through The Accountant 2, Affleck’s Christian Wolff surprisingly joins in on a line dance.

Ben Affleck Does A Line Dance In The Accountant 2’s Most Unexpected Scene

It Turns Out Christian Wolff Is Quite A Good Dancer In The Accountant 2

After Agent Medina decides she no longer wants to work the case with Christian and Braxton, the two brothers go to a bar together. In the film, even Braxton is surprised that Christian chooses a country bar. While sitting at a booth, one specific girl in the bar catches Christian’s eye. She comes over and talks to him, but he can’t quite figure out what to say to her. Throughout The Accountant 2, Christian’s love life struggles are emphasized, and this is yet another example of how he has a hard time connecting with potential love interests.

Christian humorously focuses on the dance steps just as intently as he focuses on solving murder cases.

However, once he notices the woman and other bar patrons doing a line dance together, he starts studying their movements. Christian humorously focuses on the dance steps just as intently as he focuses on solving murder cases. Once he thinks he’s figured it out, Christian joins the line dance. Braxton is once again surprised to not only see his brother join the dance, but also do quite well. This is the most unexpected scene in The Accountant 2, but it is a great moment which sees Christian push himself out of his comfort zone.

Ben Affleck’s Dancing In The Accountant 2 Perfectly Embodies The Sequel’s New Tone

The Accountant 2 Is Way Funnier Than The First Movie

While the first movie took itself quite seriously, The Accountant 2 is much funnier. Moments like Christian line dancing make The Accountant 2 a much more entertaining watch than the first film. This scene also once again highlights how great Affleck and Bernthal are in the sequel. While their characters are investigating a very serious case, both Affleck and Bernthal inject some much-needed moments of levity into The Accountant 2.

Of course, the line dancing ends with Braxton getting into a fight with a group of men at the bar. Even this moment is played for comedy. Braxton throwing the men out of the bar window looks like it belongs in a cartoon, and I mean that in the best possible way. Overall, the country bar scene is undoubtedly a standout moment in The Accountant 2, and proves that it is better than the first film.
