It’s Time Bridgerton Fans Admit These 2 Siblings Don’t Deserve Their Own Seasons

Theoretically, Bridgerton will conclude after eight seasons, since that is how many books are in the series, but it can (and should) reduce that number to six. The Netflix show is an adaptation of Julia Quinn’s book series of the same name. Each novel chronicles one of the eight Bridgerton siblings’ love stories, and every season does the same. The show began by adapting Daphne’s romance, followed by Anthony’s in season 2, and Colin’s in season 3. Benedict’s love story is next in season 4, meaning four siblings are still waiting for their time in the spotlight, but that time shouldn’t come for two characters.

Even though Netflix hasn’t announced an official release date for Bridgerton season 4, many predict it will premiere sometime in 2026.

As of the writing of this article, Netflix has only renewed Bridgerton through season 4. Nevertheless, given the alternative history romance show’s popularity, it will undoubtedly get more seasons to continue telling its story. As mentioned above, many ᴀssume Bridgerton will have at least eight seasons. Given that Quinn’s book series has eight books and there are eight Bridgerton siblings, eight seasons only make sense. However, based on the show’s history and design so far, we don’t need the last two seasons.

Bridgerton Doesn’t Need To Adapt Gregory Or Hyacinth’s Books

The Netflix Series Could End After Season 6

Although it’s sad to say, Bridgerton could do without Gregory or Hyacinth’s stories. Lovers of the books may disagree, but in the separate world that the Netflix show has built, it can survive without adapting the two youngest Bridgerton siblings’ novels. Honestly, it’d be better off if it threw out Gregory and Hyacinth’s seasons. Consequently, the alternative history series would end after season 6, given that the seventh book depicts Hyacinth’s romance and the eighth (and final) novel revolves around Gregory’s.

Neither Gregory nor Hyacinth is a fully fleshed-out character in Netflix’s Bridgerton. They haven’t had meaningful arcs in the show’s first three seasons, and they likely won’t have significant presences in season 4 either. Meanwhile, the other six Bridgerton siblings — Daphne, Anthony, Colin, Benedict, Eloise, and Francesca — have all had important roles in Bridgerton. So, most fans who haven’t read Julia Quinn’s books likely don’t care too much about Gregory or Hyacinth heading into season 4. However, they care enough about Benedict, Eloise, and Francesca to see their respective love stories play out on the small screen in future seasons.

If Bridgerton Continues Through Season 8, It Likely Won’t End Until 2034

Netflix Is Releasing Seasons Every 2 Years

The other, perhaps bigger, reason Bridgerton shouldn’t adapt Hyacinth or Gregory’s books is the show’s release schedule. Netflix tends to drop new seasons of the romance series every two years. At this rate, the show wouldn’t end until 2034 (14 years after season 1 premiered) if it lasts until season 8. If anyone thinks Bridgerton or its cast will look the same by then, they will surely be mistaken.

Bridgerton invested a lot of time in characters like Anthony, Kate, Penelope, Colin, Eloise, Benedict, and Francesca, meaning they are the ones the audience is interested in.

Most Bridgerton characters viewers care about will undoubtedly be gone by season 8. Heck, Anthony and Kate are hardly in the Netflix series now. So, by the time season 8 rolls around, almost all the original cast members will probably have moved on to other projects. As a result, many fans will lose interest in the show. Bridgerton invested a lot of time in characters like Anthony, Kate, Penelope, Colin, Eloise, Benedict, and Francesca, meaning they are the ones the audience is interested in. If they’re absent in seasons 7 and 8, there’s no point in telling Hyacinth or Gregory’s story.

Francesca’s Story Would Be The Perfect Way To End Bridgerton

Bridgerton Season 6 Should Be The Show’s Last

ᴀssuming Bridgerton season 5 adapts Eloise’s book (since hers is the fifth one in Julia Quinn’s series), season 6 would depict Francesca’s central romance. And there would be no better way to end the show. Concluding the series with Francesca’s season would finish a story first set up in season 3 (with her marriage to John Stirling and her meeting his cousin, Michaela), meaning the payoff would be more satisfying.

Francesca’s story also has a unique, important romance that would be difficult for any other couple to beat. So, Hyacinth and Gregory’s seasons would be fighting an uphill battle. Ultimately, Bridgerton ending with season 6 is perfect because it guarantees closure for the last Bridgerton sibling with a significant role in the series.
