Why Jesse Eisenberg ʙuттs Heads With One Of His Now You See Me 3 Recruits Explained By Dominic Sessa

One Now You See Me: Now You Don’t star teases tension between Jesse Eisenberg’s J. Daniel Atlas and one of the recruits. In the third installment of the Now You See Me franchise, Atlas recruits a new generation of illusionists for a mind-twisting trick, but they are forced to team up with the original Four Horsemen when facing a new threat.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Dominic Sessa, who plays Bosco, one of the new recruits, explains why his character, in particular, might have a hard time working with Atlas. The actor explains that Bosco, who also functions as the face of his group, is “fighting for the same space” as Atlas, and is “trying to fill his shoes in a way,” which potentially creates “conflict.” Read his comments below:

I think my character in particular is sort of trying to fill his shoes in a way. We’re fighting for the same space because that’s how Atlas has existed in this series; he’s the face, and people take his lead. He also has that self-righteous atтιтude towards himself, and I think Bosco definitely shares that a little bit, which maybe creates a bit of a conflict between them.

What Dominic Sessa’s Comments Means For Now You See Me 3

Bosco Shares Some Of The Same Traits As Atlas

As seen in Now You See Me 3‘s trailer, Bosco not only did an Atlas impression, but also bragged about it right before Eisenberg’s character walked through the door. On the other hand, Atlas explained that the reason he had to recruit was because he had a fallout with the other Four Horsemen. Sessa’s comment about Atlas having a “self-righteous atтιтude” seems to hint that the Horsemen’s lead might have some personality issues to work through in the new movie.

However, unlike Atlas, who found himself alone without his team at the beginning of the trailer, Bosco is surrounded by people he trusts. In the same interview, Sessa’s co-star, Ariana Greenblatt, who plays June, the pickpocket of the group, explained that her character acted like a protector of the other two because the trio were like a family, which means if Atlas gave Bosco a hard time, he wouldn’t just be facing one person, but all three of them.

Our Take On J. Daniel Atlas’ Journey Now You See Me 3

It’s Not Going To Be A Smooth Ride For Atlas

Rosamund Pike holding a diamond in Now You See Me 3

The trailer promised that, despite past tensions and conflicts, the eight of them would join hands in facing Rosamund Pike’s criminal organization. While mind-binding tricks, heists, and fighting crime will continue to be a huge part of the Now You See Me: Now You Don’t plot, the character dynamics will be juicy and full of intrigue.

Bosco looks like a younger version of Atlas in the trailer, and it’s not hard to imagine that it evokes certain unwanted feelings for Eisenberg’s character. The new recruit is like a mirror to Atlas, but at the same time, Bosco isn’t Atlas. Even though the Four Horsemen have more experience under their belts, they might find themselves in a position of learning from the young group in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.
