Forget The Lincoln Lawyer’s New Prosecutor, Neve Campbell’s Maggie Has A Bigger Rival In Season 4

Neve Campbell’s Maggie McPherson is returning to The Lincoln Lawyer in season 4, but this time as a main character. She’ll be up against a formidable former colleague prosecuting her ex-husband Mickey Haller’s murder trial, after he was found with a ᴅᴇᴀᴅ body in the boot of his car in season 3’s final episode. Yet the prosecutor in Mickey’s case isn’t going to be Maggie’s biggest rival in the show’s upcoming season. In fact, she has an even bigger one who’ll be challenging her from inside Mickey’s defense team, as the two of them both work to prove his innocence.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 ended with Mickey’s legal ᴀssistant, his second ex-wife Lorna Crane, working alongside him as a fully qualified lawyer for the first time in the show. Lorna pᴀssed her bar exam midway through the season, and Mickey began delegating legal cases to her from episode 7 onwards. Now it’s going to be time for Lorna to step up and take charge of Mickey’s operation while he remains in jail awaiting trial. But Maggie entering the fold will place Mickey Haller’s two ex-wives in a position where they are fighting over the reins of his defense team.

Lorna Crane Will Be Maggie McPherson’s Biggest Rival In The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4

Maggie And Lorna Will Be Vying For Seniority In Mickey Haller’s Defense Team

Despite Maggie’s return to The Lincoln Lawyer’s cast of characters as an experienced hand to help Mickey mount his legal defense, Lorna Crane will be expecting to be the acting head of Mickey’s defense team in his absence. Lorna has administered an increasingly тιԍнт operation as his legal ᴀssistant across the show’s three seasons, and has worked hard to obtain her credentials as a lawyer. Season 4 should be her time to shine, as her boss and ex-husband needs her more than ever.

Mickey’s first ex-wife, Maggie, on the other hand, has been out of the picture altogether for the past one and a half seasons of the show. Neve Campbell’s character exited The Lincoln Lawyer before season 3 when she was promoted to a new position in San Diego. Even before she left, she and Mickey didn’t work together, and their professional lives rarely overlapped.

For Maggie to walk straight into Mickey’s defense team and try to take a lead with his murder case is inevitably going to cause a lot of friction with Lorna. These two former romantic rivals are bound to ʙuтт heads multiple times in The Lincoln Lawyer season 4.

The Return Of Neve Campbell’s Maggie In A New Role Will Transform Mickey’s Defense Team

On the other hand, there’s no doubt that Maggie’s arrival as an extra pair of hands on deck for Mickey’s trial is going to make his defense team stronger. The return of Neve Campbell’s character to The Lincoln Lawyer isn’t just a boon for fans who’ve been rooting for her relationship with Mickey all along. It brings her decades of experience as a lawyer to Mickey’s group of highly-trusted but relatively inexperienced colleagues.

Maggie is the only person on Mickey’s team who has the inside track on the lawyer who’ll be prosecuting her ex-husband for murder.

What’s more, Maggie is the only person on Mickey’s team who has the inside track on the lawyer who’ll be prosecuting her ex-husband for murder. Maggie used to work with the prosecutor, and will likely be able to give Mickey, Lorna, and the rest of the team invaluable insights into how she typically builds a case against a defendant. A legal case is often akin to a chess game between the prosecuting and defending lawyers, and intimate knowledge about an opponent’s moves inevitably gives one side a tactical advantage over the other.

Both Maggie And Lorna Will Be Up Against “Death Row” Dana Berg In Season 4

Dana Berg Is The Toughest Prosecutor Mickey Haller Has Faced Yet

Given the idenтιтy of the prosecutor ᴀssigned to Mickey’s case, Lorna and her colleagues are going to need all the insight they can get from Maggie. New Lincoln Lawyer character “Death Row” Dana Berg is the lawyer Mickey Haller will come up against in season 4. Played by Constance Zimmer, Berg’s reputation as the most fearsome prosecutor of murder trials in Southern California precedes her, and Mickey’s team will have to be at their very best for him to stand a chance of winning his case.

Dana Berg will make Mickey’s season 2 rival Andrea Freemann look soft by comparison, as she ruthlessly goes after a guilty verdict which could leave Mickey facing the sentence that earned Berg her terrifying nickname. Perhaps it will be up to Maggie to disclose some indiscernible weakness in Berg’s armor that will allow Mickey to beat the odds and turn the case in his favor.

Whatever the tactics employed by Mickey’s defense team, Maggie and Lorna will have to work together to defeat Dana Berg in The Lincoln Lawyer season 4. After all, this is no ordinary trial, as the life and livelihood of the man who’s been married to both women is at stake. Only with both Maggie and Lorna performing at their best can Mickey hope to win his freedom.
