Planet Of The Apes Officially Weighs In On 100 Humans vs. 1 Gorilla

Planet of the Apes officially weighs in on the debate over whether 100 humans can beat one gorilla in a fight, with an expected response. An online debate has been brewing over the idea of whether 100 people can beat one gorilla in a fight. The meme has sparked a mulтιтude of responses, such as how that many people could overpower a gorilla, or that the great ape would easily crush that many people. It’s a debate reminiscent of the Planet of the Apes movies, especially newer ones where gorillas have core roles to play in the stories.

The official Planet of the Apes Twitter account has offered their insight into the 100 humans versus one gorilla debate, choosing the gorilla as the victor. The account used a GIF of the gorilla general Sylva from Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes roaring, an obvious signal as to which side they’ve chosen as the victor. What Planet Of The Apes’ Response Says About 100 Humans vs. 1 Gorilla

They Might Know Best About Who Would Win

Although the debate is clearly tongue-in-cheek, the franchise’s official accounts might know the most about who would win in the hypothetical. The series is no stranger to depicting gorillas that are strong and powerful, such as Buck in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, who managed to kill a mulтιтude of humans before succumbing to gunfire. As for newer movies, the cast of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes includes Sylva, whose strength is on display anytime he’s battling Noa and other key heroes in the film.

However, the movies’ only caveat is that the gorillas depicted therein have human levels of intelligence, which could make the fight even more unfair for a group of 100 people. Even with the question being an online trend, it’s possible something like the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes sequel can make reference to the debate by depicting their stance onscreen. It would make for a fun reference, something the franchise is clearly okay with doing based on their social media post.

Our Take On Planet Of The Apes’ Humans vs. Gorilla Opinion

It Makes Sense Given How Powerful They Are

Even though the franchise has a clear bias toward the gorilla in this scenario, they’re also probably not wrong if the fight is hand-to-hand combat. Gorillas weigh as much as multiple people and are extremely muscular, making it easy for them to take out multiple people in a fight. Planet of the Apes might be right in this no matter their own biases, considering that, if it comes down to no weapons at all, a gorilla is likely able to defeat anyone in its path pretty easily.

The upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes sequel is set to be released in 2027.
