Tom Cruise Does Some Of His Most Intense Running Yet In New Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning Poster

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

‘s ScreenX release gets a new tease with an intense Tom Cruise poster. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the upcoming eighth and potentially final Mission: Impossible movie features Cruise back as Ethan Hunt, finishing the fight against the evil AI threat known as The Enтιтy. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning trailers have hyped some of the action set pieces that are to come for Cruise and the rest of the cast, which includes Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Pom Klementieff, and Esai Morales.

ScreenRant now debuts the new Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning ScreenX poster as tickets for the movie go on sale. The poster shows Cruise sprinting as Hunt for what might be the last time, blood staining his white dress shirt. Big Ben looms in the background behind Cruise, confirming that this particular running sequence will take place in London, as has been teased in trailers. Check out the new poster below:

What This Means For Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

How The ScreenX Format Will Affect The Tom Cruise Film

ScreenX is a relatively new innovation in the world of movies, with the format offering viewers a panoramic experience. The format features dual screens that are projected onto the walls on either side of the main theater screen, allowing for a 270-degree view of the action. Though these additional screens aren’t always active at all times during a film, they typically kick in for select sequences, with the idea being that they create an enhanced sense of immersion for viewers, who are literally surrounded by the movie.

As has been teased in trailers, The Final Reckoning will have a number of sequences that could benefit from this format. One of the Mission: Impossible movie’s biggest stunts, for example, will feature Cruise holding onto the side of a biplane. For this sequence, the ScreenX format could include an expanded panoramic view of the sky. Other notable action sequences that are sure to be affected by this format include an underwater set piece involving the Sevastopol submarine, a car chase, and, of course, Cruise’s sprinting in London.

Our Take On The New Mission: Impossible 8 ScreenX Poster

A Premium Format Will Be The Best Way To Watch The Final Reckoning

A movie like The Final Reckoning is sure to benefit greatly from premium formats like ScreenX and IMAX. McQuarrie and Cruise, after all, film with these formats in mind. After the acclaimed Mission: Impossible – ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Reckoning (2023) took great advantage of the benefits of ScreenX and IMAX with its action set pieces, the upcoming film is sure to do the same.

Mission: Impossible – ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Reckoning enjoys scores of 96% and 94% from critics and audiences, respectively, on Rotten Tomatoes.

If The Final Reckoning is indeed the last Mission: Impossible movie, this could be the last time to experience an Ethan Hunt adventure in a premium format, barring any future re-releases. The stunts are sure to be mind-blowing no matter what format audiences choose, but ScreenX and IMAX could certainly enhance the experience for those looking to take their theater-viewing to the next level. It remains unclear whether Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be the last one, but Cruise’s next outing as Hunt is evidently going a big one.
