More Will Be Revealed At Netflix Tudum 2025

The fact that Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is featured in the official trailer for Netflix Tudum 2025, even for just a second, means that much more about the movie will be revealed during the upcoming event. Tudum is Netflix’s annual live event celebrating the global fandom of the streaming service’s series and movies, which is sure to feature some stars and reveals for Frankenstein. The event will be streamed live on Netflix on May 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

This is the second look at Oscar Isaac’s Victor in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein after a first-look image was revealed this past January. With an image and now the first footage being revealed, the first teaser trailer will likely be released during Netflix Tudum 2025, a month from now. It’s also been confirmed that the film will premiere on Netflix in November 2025, but it’s unknown when, so expect a release date to also be announced during the upcoming Tudum event.

Our Take On The Frankenstein Footage

Guillermo Del Toro Is Taking A Classical Aesthetic Approach

The first footage, combined with the first-look image of Oscar Isaac’s Victor, offers an exciting glimpse into Guillermo del Toro’s aesthetic approach to Frankenstein. The director appears to be embracing a classical and almost gothic visual style that honors the original tone of Mary Shelley’s novel, with dramatic lighting and an emphasis on mood and character. This stylistic direction suggests that del Toro’s adaptation will lean heavily into the tale’s timeless horror and tragic beauty, rather than modernizing it, promising a faithful take on the iconic story of Frankenstein.
