How Old Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed Is In All 3 Creed Movies

Even though the Creed timeline is messy, it is easy enough to figure out how old Adonis is in each movie. The Creed franchise honors all the Rocky movies by following Adonis, the son of Apollo Creed. Apollo was played by Carl Weathers in several Rocky movies and was a close friend of Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa. Unfortunately, Apollo was killed by Ivan Drago during a boxing match in Rocky IV. Rocky IV was released and is set in 1985, and according to a Google search, Adonis Creed was born on June 1, 1986.

As is revealed in the Creed movies, Apollo had an affair with a woman named Ms. Johnson before he died. This is why Adonis was born after Apollo’s death. Unfortunately, Adonis’ real mother also died in the 90s, which led to Mary Anne Creed adopting him. The three Creed movies have chronicled much of Adonis’ boxing career, but his age has not always been clear. Therefore, ahead of the confirmed Creed 4, let’s take a look at how old Adonis is in every Creed movie.

Adonis Creed Is 29 Years Old In The First Creed Movie

Adonis Embraces His Father’s Legacy In The First Creed Movie

Since Apollo Creed died in 1985, Adonis’ 1986 birthdate makes perfect sense. At the beginning of the first Creed movie, Adonis is finished college and is working an office job. However, he is clearly unsatisfied with his career path, which leads him to boxing in his spare time. In the first Creed movie, which is set in 2015, Adonis starts training with Rocky and the world learns about who his father really is. Even though he loses to Ricky Conlan at the end of the film, Adonis proves that he is a boxer to keep an eye on.

Adonis Creed is 32 Years Old In Creed II

Adonis Becomes A Boxing Champion In Creed II

In Creed II, which is set three years after the first film, Adonis is a much more experienced boxer. In fact, he wins the WBC World Heavyweight Championship at the beginning of Creed II. Therefore, Adonis is clearly in the prime of his career in the second film. Even though “Tale of the Tape” footage reveals that Adonis is 28 in Creed II, this doesn’t align with his birthdate and is likely a mistake. Since Creed II is set three years after the first movie, it makes sense for Adonis to be 32.

Adonis Creed Is 39 Years Old In Creed III

Adonis Comes Out Of Retirement In Creed III

While Adonis was in the prime of his career in the second film, he is retired in Creed III. Michael B. Jordan has revealed that Creed III takes place seven years after the second film, which means that Adonis is 39 in the movie. Adonis’ age makes sense for Creed III’s story, since he is clearly much more mature. However, he comes out of retirement in Creed III to face his childhood friend, Damian Anderson. After the third film, it is unclear what the story of the next Creed movie will be about or how old Adonis will be.
