John Krasinski returns as the тιтle character in the Jack Ryan
movie alongside another returning cast member in new behind-the-scenes images. Based on the character created by author Tom Clancy, the hit Prime Video show premiered in 2018, introducing Krasinski as the latest iteration of the character after other takes by Harrison Ford and Chris Pine, among others. Following the show’s conclusion with season 4 in 2023, it was confirmed that a Jack Ryan movie from director Andrew Bernstein is on the way, with filming confirmed to be underway by mid February of this year.
Now, the official Amazon MGM Studios X account shares new behind-the-scenes images from the Jack Ryan movie, showing Krasinski alongside returning cast member Michael Kelly, who reprises his role from the show as Mike November. One of the images shows Krasinski and Kelly sitting together in a helicopter, while the others show Krasinski in the midst of various scenes, including one in which he holds an ᴀssault rifle and another in which he stands in a courtroom or tribunal area. Michael Kelly Isn’t The Only Returning Cast Member
As of writing, the Jack Ryan movie has no official release date. With filming having gotten underway by mid-February, the production could now be nearing its end. If filming wraps up in the next month or so, audiences could potentially be looking at a late 2025 release date, but, at this point, 2026 is looking more likely. No plot information has been released just yet, but the latest batch of behind-the-scenes images confirming that one of Ryan’s key allies will be returning in the upcoming movie.
After the events of the Jack Ryan season 4 finale, November isn’t the only character who will be returning in the upcoming movie. Wendell Pierce is expected to return as James Greer, in addition to Betty Gabriel as Elizabeth Wright. Newcomers include Sienna Miller, Douglas Hodge, Max Beesley, JJ Feild, and Billy Clements. The new pH๏τos don’t reveal how any of these new and returning characters fit into the narrative, but it certainly looks like November will be getting his hands dirty once more, judging from his tactical vest.
Kelly is also known for shows like Lioness, The Penguin, and House of Cards.

The Movie Is Off To A Promising Start
Though it’s difficult to discern too much from the latest behind-the-scenes images, the Jack Ryan movie is already looking like an exciting continuation of the story. The TV show chose to make Ryan more of a willing action hero than past incarnations, and the image of Krasinski holding a rifle affirms that this portrayal will be returning in the upcoming film.
While Krasinski himself is obviously a major reason for the show’s success, the supporting Jack Ryan cast members around him really helped to bring the show’s world to life. It’s reᴀssuring, then, that Kelly will be returning as November, on top of other returning legacy characters. Many questions remain about the Jack Ryan movie, but work is evidently ongoing behind the scenes.
