The Blade reboot is imagined with a new leading star in Marvel Cinematic Universe art that sees Michael B. Jordan take over the role currently held by Mahershala Ali. While the MCU timeline has been adding multiple new heroes to the franchise, one of the announced players that fans have had to wait longer for is the introduction of Blade, following Ali’s announcement at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Outside of voice cameos, Blade has yet to actually appear on screen in any of the MCU films and TV shows throughout The Multiverse Saga.
The Blade reboot remains in development, and time will tell as to when Marvel Studios is actually intending to make the movie happen. Following his new movie, Sinners, becoming a 2025 movie hit, Arifinity shared new artwork of what Jordan could look like as the тιтular hero in the Blade reboot. Check it out below:

While a script is currently being written for the Blade reboot, Kevin Feige has yet to announce who is actually penning it as the project remains without a director. MCU fans will be able to catch Ali as Blade, but through animation this fall in the upcoming Marvel Zombies TV show on Disney+.
What Michael B. Jordan’s Blade Art Means For The MCU
While Jordan is not set to take over as Blade from Ali, it’s clear the wait for this reboot is getting tiresome for fans following the many directors and writers that have been attached to this project since the initial announcement. With the Marvel icon being such a phenomenal character who is long overdue for a proper MCU adventure, Marvel Studios struggling with getting the MCU’s Blade reboot underway has been notable. That is why many have commented that Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is showing Marvel Studios that it shouldn’t be difficult to get a Blade movie properly sorted.
It’s not shocking that fans are imagining Blade in other ways, including it being with someone other than Ali in the lead role. While Blade fan-art pieces and concept trailers releasing is exciting, it comes alongside the film’s prospective audience making it clear that they are not happy with how long it is taking for Marvel Studios to make this project come to fruition. At this point, it wouldn’t be shocking if the Blade reboot gets scrapped in favor of a different film that features Ali’s character as one of its leads.
Our Take On Michael B. Jordan’s Blade Art
Seeing how incredible Jordan would look as Blade shows this would be a great casting choice if he hadn’t already been cast as Killmonger in the MCU. If the Blade movie is still going forward, it would make more sense if its release now comes in Phase 7, as it seems highly unlikely that Marvel Studios can fit it into Phase 6 at this point. Hopefully, there will be more positive updates on Blade later in 2025.
