The MCU’s Sentry Actor Addresses Being Added To The Official Avengers: Doomsday Cast: “That Was News To Me”

As several Thunderbolts* cast members are set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, including Sentry, Lewis Pullman responds to the news he will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Phase 6. While Phase 5 will end with the Thunderbolts* cast taking the center stage, their journey is far from over. With Avengers: Doomsday currently in production, multiple characters from the Phase 5 finale will be back for the Phase 6 installment.

ᴅᴇᴀᴅline recently interviewed Pullman at a Thunderbolts* premiere where he was able to open up about becoming part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast. It turns out that Pullman had a very special way of finding out that he was reprising his Thunderbolts* character in Avengers: Doomsday, as he shared the following:

I wish I had stuff to say, I’d happily leak it. I haven’t heard a dang thing about it – but I’m excited that I’m a part of it, that was news to me. Danny Ramirez, one of my good buddies, is also in it. I had like 30 missed calls from him when I was shooting, and I was like, ‘What the heck could have happened?!’ He broke the news to me in a great way.

What Lewis Pullman’s Avengers: Doomsday Comments Mean For His MCU Character’s Future

While Marvel Studios kept Pullman’s character as a big mystery, as he has simply been named “Bob,” it’s been clear throughout 2025 that they want fans to know that his character is going to be a big deal, including how many Thunderbolts* trailers gave away that he is Sentry. With Sentry being a majorly powerful Marvel character, it makes sense Thunderbolts* wouldn’t be a one-and-done for this character. Revealing that Sentry and the other Thunderbolts* cast members will be in Avengers: Doomsday also serves as a reminder to the audience regarding why they shouldn’t miss the Phase 5 finale.

The way Pullman found out about his Avengers: Doomsday gig sounds like true Marvel Studios fashion, as it’s not uncommon for MCU stars to not know when they are expected to be used next. However, whether or not Thunderbolts* will set anything up for Sentry’s return in Avengers: Doomsday remains to be seen. Knowing how Marvel Studios likes to operate, they are bound to have planted a seed or two in Thunderbolts* that justifies Sentry being part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast.

Our Take On Lewis Pullman’s Avengers: Doomsday Comments

Hearing how Pullman found out about his next MCU appearance, it will be very fascinating to witness Sentry’s overall role in the Phase 6 film, especially as Thunderbolts* connects with Avengers: Doomsday based on Jake Schreier’s latest comments. As Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is coming in as The Multiverse Saga’s big bad, time will tell if Sentry will be fighting with or against Victor von Doom. Hopefully, more story details about Avengers: Doomsday, including Sentry’s arc in the movie, will likely start to emerge sooner rather than later.
