This video is such a fun, charming way for Star Wars to celebrate Revenge of the Sith’s 20th anniversary and corresponding theatrical re-release, and it’s wonderful to see Hayden Christensen taking center stage in this way.

What Revenge Of The Sith’s Theatrical Re-Release Means For Star Wars

This Time Around, This Star Wars Movie Will Get The Love It Deserves

As mentioned, Revenge of the Sith is now hailed as one of the best additions to Star Wars movies and TV shows, but, at the time, it received significant backlash and criticism. This had actually happened with all three prequel trilogy movies, beginning with outrage at Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace introducing Anakin Skywalker as a child. Over time, the fanbase has largely changed its tune, not only about the movies but also about the actors themselves.

Hayden Christensen was among the actors who bore the brunt of the criticism of the prequels, alongside young Anakin actor Jake Lloyd and Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best. Yet, the excitement around Christensen’s return in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka and Ewan McGregor’s return as Obi-Wan in Obi-Wan Kenobi makes it clear that the prequel trilogy actors have since become beloved. Likewise, this time around, Revenge of the Sith’s theatrical release will be celebrated by fans who adore the movie.

Our Take On Revenge Of The Sith

This Theatrical Re-Release Is Truly Exciting

Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker tells General Grievous he's shorter than he expected in Revenge of the Sith

As a kid of the 90s, I’ve always loved the prequel trilogy, even before there was this more general shift in the fanbase. In fact, I’ve long been confused about how much hate these movies receive. Yes, there are clunky lines, and even some narrative choices I don’t agree with (such as how Padmé died), but, on the whole, I think they are brilliant Star Wars movies. More than that, I’ve always thought the characters—and the actors playing them—in the prequels were brilliant.

It’s now beyond exciting to get the opportunity to see this movie, and actors in it like Christensen, back on the big screen. Apparently, 20 years are exactly what the fanbase needed to fully get behind the prequels, especially Revenge of the Sith, and now there’s sure to be more fanfare than ever about this movie being in theaters. This hilarious Star Wars video featuring Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader actor Hayden Christensen was the perfect way to kick off Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’s theatrical re-release, which begins this week.
