Seven Years After Throne Of Glᴀss’ Ending, Sarah J. Maas Still Needs To Address The Series’ Most Surprising Cameos

Throne of Glᴀss is the flagship and best fantasy book series by Sarah J. Maas, who, at this point, has published multiple bestselling series that are confirmed to all be taking place in a multiverse-like world. While she has seemingly been heading in that direction for a long time, some fans may still wish that Maas would fully commit to a crossover after a cameo established the shared setting seven years ago. The Throne of Glᴀss books primarily tell the story of long-lost heir and fire-wielding ᴀssᴀssin Aelin embarking on a journey to reclaim her throne.

But the saga has only gotten bigger since then. Joining the many powerful characters in Throne of Glᴀss, Maas started publishing A Court of Thorns and Roses before Throne of Glᴀss was completed. This series follows human huntress Feyre as she becomes entwined with the political ongoings of the Fae country of Prythian and eventually is mated to the High Lord of the Night Court, Rhysand, in a largely separate epic from Aelin’s exploits. However, in the final act of the Wyrdgate being closed and Aelin losing her powers, we briefly see two beloved characters — who have yet to meet Aelin again.

7 Years Later, Sarah J. Maas Still Hasn’t Properly Addressed Throne Of Glᴀss’ Feyre & Rhysand Cameos

Feyre & Rhys Had A Fateful Encounter With Aelin That Deserves A Follow-Up

When Aelin closes the Wyrdgate and has her revenge against the vindictive gods, she is launched through the multiverse and briefly sees many other worlds, including what is apparently a glimpse of the main metropolitan setting of Maas’ Crescent City books. However, the big encounter is when she sees Rhys and Feyre from above, having an evening together when Feyre is pregnant. Rhys apparently recognizes that Aelin needs help and uses his own magic to slow her down so she can return home.

Feyre’s pregnancy places this moment during the events of A Court of Silver Flames, the fifth ACOTAR book. It is alluded to that the event left Rhys very reflective, considering what the implications of contact with another world could mean. However, Maas has never written about any more meetings between Aelin and the members of the Night Court — or even really had the characters explicitly talk about what happened. Given how it affected both parties, an additional discussion or meeting would be very satisfying in the future, which could still come to fruition in one of Sarah J. Maas’ upcoming books.

Sarah J. Maas Connected ACOTAR & Crescent City, But We Still Need A Throne Of Glᴀss Crossover

Will Aelin & Feyre Ever Properly Meet?

Bryce, the lead heroine of Crescent City, lands in the Night Court for a time during her book series. However, this is still more interaction that the Throne of Glᴀss cast has had with ACOTAR. Maas has confirmed her willingness to do crossovers and even incorporated a very distant lineage connection into the plot of Crescent City. Therefore, it is very possible that we will someday learn more about the characters of Throne of Glᴀss and A Court of Thorns and Roses through seeing them engage with each — also hinging on Maas being willing to write something like another Throne of Glᴀss book.
