Sadie Sink Debuts As Marvel’s Black Cat In Spider-Man: Brand New Day & Teams Up With Tom Holland’s MCU Hero In Marvel Movie Concept Poster

A new Spider-Man: Brand New Day concept poster pitches Sadie Sink as the Black Cat in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After having been gone since the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland is getting ready to finally return to the MCU as Peter Parker, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day being closer than ever to becoming a reality. As the Phase 6 movie is set to start production later this year, fans are actively waiting to learn more details about Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

As Spider-Man: Brand New Day is bringing Sink into the MCU, many are still theorizing who she is actually meant to be playing in the sequel. One idea is that Sink will become Marvel’s Black Cat, with Mohd Haris sharing a new Spider-Man: Brand New Day concept art showing what she could look like fully suited up. Check it out below:

If Sink were to play Black Cat in the MCU, this would be the second time Felicia Hardy has been featured in live-action, following her brief debut in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where she was played by Felicity Jones. At the time of this story’s publication, there has been no confirmation on who Sink will be playing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

What The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Art Means For Tom Holland’s Sequel

While Spider-Man: Brand New Day story details are being kept under wraps, the plot will focus on Peter now being on his own after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, as no one remembers who he is anymore in the MCU. If the MCU intends to go deeper into the Spider-Man lore, having Black Cat show up in Peter’s life would make way more sense here than it would have in Holland’s original trilogy.

The Black Cat character is also more suitable to explore during Peter’s life as a young adult vigilante rather than when he was in high school, which would make Spider-Man: Brand New Day the perfect timing for the character’s debut. It’s more believable that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios hired Sink to play Black Cat rather than Mary Jane Watson, as there have been theories suggesting that the Stranger Things star is somehow replacing Zendaya’s MJ, which would be a mᴀssive stretch for the MCU.

As Zendaya will return for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it’s possible the Phase 6 film explores Peter having a temporary love story with someone else before eventually finding his way back to MJ. Having Black Cat fill that role would not only tap into their Marvel Comics history, but also show Spider-Man involved with another costumed character.

Our Take On The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Art

Seeing how Sink would suit the role of Black Cat, it would genuinely be exciting if she was actually playing the Marvel anti-heroine in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Black Cat is one of the best characters to have emerged from the Spider-Man canon, and seeing her make her way into the MCU timeline would be a lot of fun, especially as there are other directions they can take with her beyond Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Hopefully, once Spider-Man: Brand New Day gets closer to starting filming, more details on Sink’s character will ideally be revealed.
