Andrew Garfield comes back as Spider-Man for a direct adaptation of a famous Marvel comic book in new art. The actor played Peter Parker in two The Amazing Spider-Man films before returning as his version of the hero in the biggest of the MCU’s Spider-Man movies, No Way Home. Recently, Garfield revealed that he wants to play Spider-Man again, though it would have to be a unique project in a “surprising” way. That is the focus of new Spider-Man art that sees the actor return to his Peter Parker role years later.

On Twitter, @comikztar imagined what Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker could look like in an Ultimate Spider-Man adaptation alongside Felicity Jones as Mary Jane Watson.

The fan art looks great, with Garfield’s Peter sporting a full beard and glᴀsses in an homage to one of Ultimate Spider-Man’s covers. The ongoing comic book series explores a universe where Peter got his powers at an older age and is married to Mary Jane Watson, having two children with her. Interestingly, Felicity Jones is MJ in the fan art, even though the actress had a cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat.

The Comic Book Series Has Proven Itself Quite Popular

Over the past couple of decades, The Amazing Spider-Man comics have become controversial. The Spider-Man editorial imposed certain limits on what the creators could do with the character, with the most divisive being that Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson are not to be together in the main continuity. Since it is one of Marvel’s most iconic relationships, fans have been understandably mad at the decision. The Ultimate Spider-Man comics come as an alternative to that, showing a universe where Peter and MJ are married and have kids, which has led to fans asking for a live-action adaptation.

While Garfield looks the closest to Ultimate Spider-Man’s Peter Parker out of the three live-action Spider-Man movie actors, Tobey Maguire’s Peter would be the most likely for such an adaptation. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, he revealed that he made things work with his MJ. A future MCU movie — or a new Sony Spider-Man film — could reveal that Maguire’s Peter is married to MJ and has kids. While Garfield’s Peter could be put in a similar scenario, as it has been four years since Spider-Man: No Way Home, losing Gwen Stacy seems to have forever impacted his love life.

The Actor Could Pull Off This Version Of Spider-Man

I think Garfield would do great as a version of Ultimate Spider-Man’s Peter Parker in live-action, though I think Marvel and Sony are more likely to go with Tobey if that is ever explored. Not only does Garfield have the right look for the role, but the actor has shown in projects like We Live in Time, where he starred opposite the MCU’s Yelena Belova star, Florence Pugh, that he has what it takes to play a loving father in an emotional story. Garfield’s Spider-Man could be perfect for Mary Jane Watson and a couple of children.
