A Minecraft Movie’s Lava Chicken Gets Accurately Recreated In Real-Life (& It’s Edible)

A Minecraft Movie‘s lava chicken has been accurately recreated in real life, with the fictional dish becoming an edible chicken dish in the process. Although A Minecraft Movie‘s songs are few and far between, one of the most memorable is “Steve’s Lava Chicken,” which Jack Black sings while bringing the rest of the characters to his village. The tune begins when he shows them a contraption that causes chickens to be burned in lava, creating what he dubs, “lava chicken.” The spicy dish is briefly played for laughs, but has gained popularity in the weeks after the film’s release.

Now, 2Men1Kitchen has recreated Steve’s lava chicken in real life, turning A Minecraft Movie‘s fun dish into an edible dinner. In the video, chicken breast is sliced and prepared in a square tin as spices are poured in and around the slices. The chicken is cooked and cut in various ways to give it its boxy shape from the movie, while parts are also cut to make the chicken wings on the sides. In the end, the chefs eat it, and offer up their approval. Check out the full video below:

Another Memorable Jack Black Song From A Video Game Movie

Lava chicken in A Minecraft Movie

“Steve’s Lava Chicken” is the second song by Black ᴀssociated with a video game movie to go viral, the first being “Peaches” from 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie. During the scene in question, the cast of A Minecraft Movie are confused by the musical number, with Garett (Jason Momoa) taking a bite of the chicken to prove it’s not H๏τ. However, smoke pours from his nostrils, signaling just how H๏τ and spicy lava chicken really is.

As for the real-world recreation, it clearly isn’t as H๏τ as in the movie, but does use plenty of spices that would give it an extra kick. Based on the reaction of the chefs trying it after it’s done, it seems like it can be recreated to be a tasty dish, given that it’s spicy chicken shaped to look like it would in Minecraft. However, the video does emphasize the popularity of the dish itself, indicative of how A Minecraft Movie‘s Easter eggs and original content overlap to create a memorable experience.

As for whether more from the movie gets remade in real life, the weeks to come as it continues its box office domination could offer more fan-made surprises.
