I Didn’t Like A Minecraft Movie, But These 5 Moments Still Made Me Laugh Out Loud

I was disappointed by A Minecraft Movie, but I have to admit that several moments in the film were quite funny. As a longtime fan of the video game, I was very excited for A Minecraft Movie. Obviously, I’m not necessarily the target audience for the film, which was made mostly for children, but I was still hoping to enjoy it much more than I did. Reviews for A Minecraft Movie have been quite mixed, with Screen Rant’s own Mae Abdulbaki giving it a score of 4 out of 10.

However, despite some negative reviews, A Minecraft Movie has been a huge success at the box office. After many clips from A Minecraft Movie went viral after its release, the film broke records during its opening weekend. As of this writing, A Minecraft Movie has grossed well over $500 million at the box office, and it doesn’t seem to be losing any momentum. Clearly, A Minecraft Movie has resonated with a lot of audiences, and even I have to admit that it includes funny scenes. Therefore, here are five moments from A Minecraft Movie that made me laugh out loud:

Jack Black’s Original (& Random) Song “Steve’s Lava Chicken”

Steve Likes To Sing In A Minecraft Movie

As expected, Jack Black sings several songs in A Minecraft Movie. Even though A Minecraft Movie is not a musical, Black performing songs ensures that Steve has a distinct personality and sense of humor in the film. Not long after Steve arrives at Midport Village, Garrett tries to eat a piece of chicken that was heated up by lava to prove how tough he is. However, the chicken is obviously way too H๏τ, prompting Steve to randomly start singing about it. This song is random, but is also quite funny and adds a lot of charm to A Minecraft Movie.

Jack Black Riding Jason Momoa While They Fly Through The Air

Jack Black & Jason Momoa Are Closer Than Ever In A Minecraft Movie

Steve riding Garrett as they fly through the air while escaping the zombified piglins is definitely the funniest moment of physical comedy in A Minecraft Movie. When they have to fit through a small hole in a cliff, they maneuver themselves in a very awkward position and push their bodies close together. Jack Black and Jason Momoa are definitely the funniest actors in A Minecraft Movie, and in this scene, they prove how much chemistry they have as they form a “man sandwich.”

Jason Momoa’s Hilarious Fight Against A Chicken Jockey

Garrett Is Terrified Of The Chicken Jockey In A Minecraft Movie

Without a doubt, the most viral moment from A Minecraft Movie is when Steve announces that Garrett will be fighting a chicken jockey. Audiences all over the world have erupted in cheers and wacky celebrations in theaters when Steve announces the chicken jockey. Because of how popular this one line has become, it’s easy to dismiss how funny Garrett’s fight with the chicken jockey actually is. In this scene, Momoa once again performs a lot of physical comedy that made me laugh out loud.

Malgosha Repeatedly Telling Steve To Come Closer So She Can Stab Him

Malgosha Tries To Trick Steve At The End Of A Minecraft Movie

Malgosha hunched over with a cane in A Minecraft Movie

At the end of A Minecraft Movie, Steve, Garrett, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn manage to defeat Malgosha and her army of zombified piglins. However, even after defeat, Malgosha still tries to trick Steve, asking him to come closer so she can tell him something. Despite knowing that Malgosha is just going to try to stab him, Steve goes over to her several times. Every time she tries to make a move, Steve hilariously knocks her knife away with almost no effort. Malgosha repeatedly beckoning Steve over is hilarious, since she has clearly lost at this point in the movie.

Every Scene Between Jennifer Coolidge & The Villager

Marlene Falls In Love With A Villager In A Minecraft Movie

Even though it’s not very relevant to the main story of the film, every scene between Jennifer Coolidge’s character and the villager is hilarious in A Minecraft Movie. First, she hits the escaped villager with her car, and pleads with him to not get her in trouble. This leads to her taking him on a date and developing feelings for him… even though he can’t actually speak any English. All these scenes are so random, but Coolidge perfectly portrays Marlene and fully commits to the role, which makes them all standout as hilarious moments in A Minecraft Movie.
