This energy would be perfect for the Ocean’s franchise, which took a ludicrous turn in Ocean’s 13. This move to the silly, funny, and absurd suited the movie franchise perfectly, given it had always had such a strong sense of humor.

The upcoming Ocean’s 14 movie has lots to consider, bearing in mind it may be the final outing for the franchise. This would make sense — as Clooney commented, the cast has aged significantly, and the movie could explore aging conmen adjusting to life after retirement and suddenly being thrown into chaos again. This would make a great capper to the franchise. Bringing Viola Davis back as a law enforcement officer would make so much sense, given she also started Ocean’s Eleven, having always been a strong presence in the franchise.
