Jim Carrey has been transformed into a unique version of Sonic by an artist and a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Carrey has appeared as Ivo Robotnik in all three Sonic the Hedgehog movies, and has been a standout in the franchise. Throughout the three films, the comedic actor has fully committed to the goofy tone of the Sonic movies, and is one of the main reasons why they are so entertaining to watch. Carrey’s love of the franchise is evident, as he recently played an additional character in 2024’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
The artist who goes by the username isaiasarts posted a video on Instagram which merges the faces of Carrey and Sonic together. In the video, the artist morphs the actors’ facial features so that they can fit on Sonic’s uniquely shaped head. The end result presents an eccentric new version of Sonic, but is also somewhat terrifying to look at. Watch the full video below:

Carrey Is The Best Part Of The Sonic The Hedgehog Movies
Carrey Thrives In The Sonic Franchise
Ivo Robotnik, also known as Dr. Eggman, is the Blue Blur’s main rival in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Carrey’s evil scientist character fought against Sonic in the first two movies in the franchise, but played a bit of a different role in the recently released third installment. Instead of just playing Ivo, Carrey also played Gerald Robotnik. Gerald is Ivo’s grandfather and is undoubtedly more evil than his grandson and emerges as the true villain of the film by the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
After the events of the third film in the franchise, it is currently unknown if Ivo Robotnik will return in future Sonic movies.
The addition of Gerald Robotnik allows Ivo to go through a lot of character development. During the climax of Sonic 3, Ivo turns on Gerald, finding some redemption for his previous villainous actions. However, this comes at a cost, as Ivo dies during the climax of the film. After the climax, it is unknown whether Ivo Robotnik will return in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4. However, while fans may never see Carrey and Sonic onscreen together again, they can admire this unique artwork.
Our Take On This Scary Fan Art Of Carrey & Sonic
Sonic The Hedgehog Is A Very Weird Franchise
The video of the making of this fan art proves how talented isaiasarts truly is. However, I have to admit that it is not something I would want to look at for a very long time. On the other hand, though, this Carrey/Sonic morphed creature is something that would weirdly fit into the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, which is already filled with alien-like beings. Therefore, in a strange way, this fan art is perfect for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
