In the last few years, Pedro Pascal has been at the center of the cinematic and television universe. Everyone knows about him, and everyone adores him. Not only is he a charismatic actor capable of moving performances, but he has also become a Sєx symbol. The near future promises to be quite intriguing for the actor’s devoted fanbase, with 2025 being hailed as Pedro Pascal’s year. His next projects include both big and small-screen productions. The Last of Us
April 13
One of the TV shows that cemented Pedro Pascal as the “father figure” of modern television, The Last of Us, is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi based on a video game. The series received critical and audience acclaim after its premiere in 2023. Following the cliffhanger finale of the first season, fans have been eagerly waiting for the continuation of Joel and Ellie’s journey, and will be satisfied on April 13. Pascal reprises his role as Joel, the middle-aged, hardened apocalypse survivor tasked with escorting Ellie, a teenager who may be the key to ending the world-devastating pandemic, across America.
The second season is based on the 2020 game The Last of Us Part II, and it introduces the character of Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever. The story takes place five years after the events portrayed in season 1 and has a total of seven episodes. The upcoming action-driven and emotional episodes are said to place a particular emphasis on Ellie and the consequences of the traumatic experience she previously lived through. Pascal’s performance has been relentlessly complimented, with publications like Paste lauding the newly found warmth he brings to Joel’s character.

Materialists
June 13
Most of his fans are likely looking forward to seeing Pedro Pascal as one of the leads in the romantic comedy Materialists. Along with him, the movie stars Dakota Johnson and Chris Evans. Written and directed by Celine Song, who earned two Academy Award nominations for her widely acclaimed debut feature Past Lives in 2023, the film is set in New York City and promises to deliver an emotionally compelling and intriguing love story. It will premiere on June 13.
The plot revolves around a successful matchmaker, Lucy, who finds herself entangled in a toxic love triangle with her previous boyfriend (Chris Evans) and a wealthy businessman (Pedro Pascal). Compared to Past Lives, which addressed romantic themes through a dramatic perspective, Materialists appears to verge more on the rom-com genre. With Song’s reputation for character-driven storytelling and emotional depth and Pedro Pascal’s acknowledged charm, the movie is one of the most anticipated of the years. Fans are intrigued to see which one of the two charismatic leads Johnson will choose in the upcoming movie.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps
July 25
Ever since Marvel Studios got the opportunity to bring The Fantastic Four to life on the big screen, fans everywhere have been excited to see the cinematic future of this beloved group of heroes. Finally, on July 25, the world will get to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with Pedro Pascal in the legendary role of Reed Richards (or Mr. Fantastic). The movie is directed by Matt Shakman, who has previously contributed to highly successful projects such as WandaVision, Fargo, and Game of Thrones. This new version of The Fantastic Four is a departure from the previous known adaptations.
The upcoming movie takes place in an alternative dimension, a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic Earth. The four heroes have to save the world from a planet-eating cosmic being named Galactus. This is, without doubt, an original approach to the story. The movie will also start Phase 6 of the MCU. Although the internet had hoped for other actors to play the role of Mr Fantastic (including John Krasinski), the trailer and various pictures suggest Pascal will be a great Reed Richards.

Eddington
TBA 2025
In Eddington, the public will see Pedro Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix as enemies attempting to take each other down in a deserted town of New Mexico. A Western black comedy, the film is written and directed by Ari Aster, who rose to fame for critically acclaimed horrors like Midsommar and Hereditary. Although the upcoming movie belongs to a different genre, we will likely see the same dark humor and graphic violence that have notoriously characterized Aster’s cinematography.
Eddington is set in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and addresses a lot of the socio-political tensions of the period. Described as an “ensemble film,” the production brings A-List actors such as Emma Stone, Austin Butler, and Luke Grimes into the cast (World of Reel). However, at the heart of the story lies the rivalry between Phoenix’s character-the sheriff- and Mayor Ted Garcia (Pascal), and how this affects the inhabitants of the town. Their dispute reportedly begins over the sheriff’s refusal to wear a mask in the grocery store and escalates when he announces his candidacy for mayor.
