Finally, on July 25, the world will get to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with Pedro Pascal in the legendary role of Reed Richards (or Mr. Fantastic). This new version of The Fantastic Four is a departure from the previous known adaptations.

Eddington

In Eddington, the public will see Pedro Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix as enemies attempting to take each other down in a deserted town of New Mexico. A Western black comedy, the film is written and directed by Ari Aster, who rose to fame for critically acclaimed horrors like Midsommar and Hereditary. Although the upcoming movie belongs to a different genre, we will likely see the same dark humor and graphic violence that have notoriously characterized Aster’s cinematography.

Eddington is set in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and addresses a lot of the socio-political tensions of the period. Described as an “ensemble film,” the production brings A-List actors such as Emma Stone, Austin Butler, and Luke Grimes into the cast (World of Reel). However, at the heart of the story lies the rivalry between Phoenix’s character-the sheriff- and Mayor Ted Garcia (Pascal), and how this affects the inhabitants of the town. Their dispute reportedly begins over the sheriff’s refusal to wear a mask in the grocery store and escalates when he announces his candidacy for mayor.

Avengers: Doomsday

After The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pedro Pascal will return as Reed Richards in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, set to premiere on May 1, 2026. The confirmation of Pascal and the rest of The Fantastic Four actors in the cast has recently been announced, so very little is known about his role and relevance to the plot. Hopefully, he will be a significant addition. Although details about the story are still scarce, some information has been revealed.
