Alan Ritchson Suits Up As Batman For James Gunn’s DC Universe In Brilliant DC Art

The Brave and The Bold finds its Batman in Alan Ritchson as new DC Universe artwork brings the next Bruce Wayne to life in James Gunn’s superhero franchise. One of the most highly-anticipated projects coming from the DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” movies and TV slate is The Brave and The Bold, which will finally start Batman’s new franchise within DC Studios’ interconnected universe. However, despite having a director attached, The Brave and The Bold has yet to find its next Bruce Wayne.

As of right now, DC Studios is not starting its casting process for their next Dark Knight anytime soon, as The Brave and The Bold has yet to land a release date. In the meantime, @SmartSheepArt recently shared new The Brave and The Bold artwork with Ritchson, showcasing what he would look like as Batman in the DCU. Check it out below:

The Brave and The Bold artwork sees Ritchson in one of the more recent Batman costume designs from the DC Comics canon, with the Batman logo having a yellow outline. While a script is currently being worked on for The Brave and The Bold, it’s unclear who the attached writer is following a recent DCU press event that ScreenRant attended where Gunn and Peter Safran gave a brief update on the project.

What The Alan Ritchson As Batman Art Means For The DCU

When it comes to major characters like Batman, who is, by far, one of Hollywood’s ultimate superheroes, fans are always going to make their voices heard about who should or shouldn’t play the Caped Crusader on the big screen. As numerous actors have been asked if they would want to play Batman – and because of the DC casting rumors that are floating around about The Brave and The Bold – Ritchson is one of the candidates to have expressed his interest in the role multiple times.

What fan-art pieces like Ritchson’s recent The Brave and The Bold artwork go to show is that many are behind the idea of him playing Batman in the DCU franchise. As Ritchson is also currently headlining one of the most popular action-led series with Reacher, plenty of fans clearly want a talented star like him to get the chance to suit up as the Dark Knight. Whether or not DC Studios is paying attention to Ritchson’s Batman fan-casting remains to be seen.

Our Take On The Alan Ritchson As Batman Art

Seeing the concept of Ritchson as Batman through the new DC art makes the idea of him joining the DCU as the next cinematic version of the Gotham City icon even more appealing. Having Ritchson star in The Brave and The Bold movie would also allow the DCU to have a very distinct version of Batman from Robert Pattinson’s Elseworlds incarnation, as the two franchises will be happening at the same time. Hopefully, as DC Studios gets further into 2025, more updates about the casting process for The Brave and The Bold will start to roll out.
