Ryan Gosling’s Dream Marvel Casting Comes To Life In Ghost Rider Concept Trailer

A new Ghost Rider concept trailer sees Ryan Gosling join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the iconic comic book hero. As the MCU timeline has been introducing numerous heroes and villains through The Multiverse Saga, one fan-favorite many are waiting to see come to the big screen is Ghost Rider. Despite having the character rights back, Marvel Studios has yet to utilize Ghost Rider in their MCU films.

While he has yet to join a superhero universe, Gosling has been on the record numerous times that his ultimate Marvel dream role to play would be Ghost Rider. To show what he would potentially look like as the тιтular hero, KH Studio shared a new Ghost Rider concept trailer for the Barbie star’s own solo film where he plays the Spirit of Vengeance. Check it out below:

The last time Johnny Blaze was depicted on the big screen was through Nicolas Cage’s short-lived Marvel franchise, as he portrayed the character in 2007’s Ghost Rider and 2011’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. According to Ryan Reynolds, Cage almost returned as Ghost Rider in 2024’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, but ultimately didn’t happen.

What The Ryan Gosling As Ghost Rider Concept Trailer Means For The MCU

While time will tell if Ghost Rider is even a character that Marvel Studios intend to feature anytime soon, it’s clear that many Marvel fans out there want to see the character finally get his due in the MCU. As the MCU franchise has been extending its line-up of supernatural characters over the last few years, a Ghost Rider movie is more suitable than ever. In terms of casting Ghost Rider for the MCU, Gosling has also been a fan-favorite for the role for quite some time, which is why fans keep creating concept trailers with him as the lead.

Gosling’s Ghost Rider dream is also something that even Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige is aware of, which is why it raises the question of whether or not they may have been trying to finally land him as Johnny. While time will tell if Gosling will be cast as the MCU’s Ghost Rider, the character would likely not appear until Phase 7 at the very earliest. Given how The Multiverse Saga is focusing on wrapping up their remaining Phase 6 projects, adding Ghost Rider right now would feel excessive.

Based on how the Ghost Rider concept trailer presents Gosling as the popular Marvel hero, it would be fun to finally see the actor get his dream role in the MCU, especially as Johnny is a fascinating character that Marvel Studios could do many things for years to come. After how Agents of SHIELD’s Ghost Rider saga introduced Robbie Reyes, it’s clear that this mythology can work in live-action when handled properly. Hopefully, whether it’s in Phase 7 or later, Ghost Rider will finally get his chance in the MCU at some point.
