Chainsaw Man’s Movie Campaign Promises to Be One of Anime’s Most Ambitious Projects to Date

After years of silence, Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc is finally coming to theaters in late 2025. Despite the anime having its share of shortcomings, the movie has always been something worth looking forward to, and based on the trailer and other promotional material, even the anime’s biggest detractors are bound to find something to love about it.

Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc is still a long way away, but it’s already going through a major release campaign. Unlike movies in other mediums, whether they’re live-action or even other animated movies, anime movies tend to be released at varying times around the world, with it often taking months for a new movie to be released in countries outside Japan. Naturally, Chainsaw Man’s movie won’t have a simultaneous release schedule worldwide, but Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc’s release schedule promises to be one of anime’s most ambitious to date, and overall, that’s great to see.

Chainsaw Man’s Movie Is Coming To The West Sooner Than Anyone Thought

When To Expect Chainsaw Man’s Movie Outside Of Japan

Key visual for the Chainsaw Man movie

Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc premieres in Japan on September 19, 2025, almost two years since it was first announced in 2023, and as is often the case, the film will be released outside Japan in the months to follow. Surprisingly, though, while most anime movies can take several months to release outside Japan, Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc will release in most major territories outside of Japan within only a month of its release in Japan, with Chainsaw Man’s movie releasing on October 29 in America and releasing as early as late September in greater Asia.

This isn’t the first time an anime movie has had such a fast release schedule, of course. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s recap films, for example, all released in English after only a month, but Demon Slayer is the most popular anime franchise to come out of the 2020s, so Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc having such a fast release schedule shows a confidence that it can be as successful as Demon Slayer’s movies. The fact that it has a faster turnaround than the first Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie especially supports that, and overall, that’s great to see.

Why Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc Will Be So Great To Watch

What Makes The Chainsaw Man Movie So Exciting

Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc having such a quick turnaround is great to see when considering how great a film it will be. While the anime has been on hiatus for almost three years now, manga fans old and new have long since loved the Reze arc for how much depth it gives Denji and the larger story and for being where the series begins to truly adopt its iconic style, both regarding its action and its overall writing. Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc will adapt the arc where Chainsaw Man finally comes into its own as a story, and that’s plenty worth getting excited about.

The visual presentation of the film also makes it exciting. Tatsuya Yoshihara is directing the Chainsaw Man movie after Ryu Nakayama left MAPPA, and while Nakayama did a good job with season 1, Chainsaw Man’s change in directors, as shown in the trailer for Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc, gives the anime a far more cinematic and bombastic quality that’s far closer to the manga’s aesthetic. There’s never been more excitement to be had for Chainsaw Man, and that’s bound to reach its peak once Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc finally premieres this upcoming fall.
