In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, New Line president and CCO Richard Brener shared that a deal has been reached with Ice Cube to develop Last Friday. Brener confirmed the franchise’s return after more than 20 years and the upcoming movie’s current state of development. Check out his comment below:

Friday 4 Might Be A Hit Among Modern Movie Fans

Either way, Last Friday is officially in development, and comedy fans can look forward to enjoying another laughter-filled journey from Ice Cube and DJ Pooh.
In recent years, many 1990s comedy movies have been rediscovered and enjoyed by modern movie fans, which means there’s a market for Last Friday.
The first Friday movie, released in 1995, was a sleeper hit that garnered a cult following, which then led to two commercially successful sequels. However, the reception of the sequels was divisive in comparison to the generally well-received first movie.
