The Neighborhood Watch trailer sees The Boys stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jack Quaid teaming up in an attempt to solve the mystery of an abduction. Coming to theaters on April 25, the upcoming movie stars Quaid as a mentally ill young man who witnesses a possible abduction and Morgan as his next-door neighbor who worked as a security guard. Previously, Quaid and Morgan appeared in the satirical superhero television series The Boys, though they didn’t interact onscreen in their respective roles as Hughie and Joe Kessler.
RLJE Films has dropped the official trailer for Neighborhood Watch, teasing Morgan and Quaid’s crime-solving duo. Directed by The Clovehitch Killer‘s Duncan Skiles with a script by Sean Farley, the upcoming movie sees an unlikely friendship forging as Simon (Quaid) brings Ed (Morgan) into the investigation despite Ed’s initial doubts about Simon’s reliability. As they dive deeper into the crime, they begin to realize that the truth is far from what they expected. Check out the trailer below:
What This Means For Neighborhood Watch
Jeffrey Dean Morgan And Jack Quaid Are At The Heart Of Neighborhood Watch
Aside from The Boys, Morgan and Quaid have both starred in the arcade game-based movie Rampage, but similar to their time on the superhero series, the two didn’t share the screen. It seems that things are due for a change in Neighborhood Watch, where the two stars will have a lot of onscreen interactions. Morgan has previously teased that their shared screentime takes up 99% of the movie and compared the three-week filming experience to a crash course in brotherhood.
As evident in the Neighborhood Watch trailer, the movie is as much about Simon and Ed’s bond as it is about the crime in question. Ed initially rejects Simon when he comes to him for help, but he gradually opens his heart over time. Mysteries with a compelling duo at the center tend to do incredibly well, and the promise of seeing Quaid and Morgan finally interacting onscreen makes Neighborhood Watch a very enticing prospect. This will likely resonate with their fans, especially those who enjoy The Boys.
Our Take On Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch Is A Must-Watch For Morgan And Quaid Fans
Neighborhood Watch is an intriguing feature for those who have been waiting to see a team-up between Morgan and Quaid, who are overdue for some onscreen action. Morgan’s role also recalls his time as John Winchester in the Supernatural series, where he played a mechanic-turned-hunter who used fake idenтιтies to solve crimes and was forced to improvise under unpredictable situations. It’s a familiar sort of pleasure to see Morgan take on a character like this again.
Simon is also similar to Quaid’s Boys character Hughie Campbell in a way. In both roles, Quaid portrays an underdog who has to overcome great obstacles to bring about justice. On the other hand, even outside other pop culture references, Neighborhood Watch has enough grit to stand on its own as a worthwhile movie feature, which should make the upcoming film an exciting one to watch in theaters.
