The Creed movies grew out of the Rocky movies but may have just surpᴀssed them, and their next installment could prove that beyond doubt. The best boxers in Rocky and Creed all have a few key things in common – a rough internal struggle underlying the one in the ring, determination, and abs of steel. While this popular formula for a boxing movie character has succeeded over and over again since the release of Rocky, the older movies didn’t always make good use of it. Meanwhile, Creed 4 may sustain the franchise’s success.
With the release of the Creed 4 movie being speculated by the industry and fans alike, it seems not unlikely that it will eventually see the light of day. With the first ever Rocky movie released in 1976 and sequels released in 1979, 1980, 1985, and 1990, this original franchise utilized effects and embodied values that changed a lot over the years. Launched in 2015, the first Creed movie centers on Apollo Creed’s son. A classic sports movie hero, Adonis Johnson, played by Michael B. Jordan, may well prove how Creed beats Rocky in Creed 4.
The Creed Franchise Is Already More Consistent Than The Rocky Movies
The Creed Movies Never Let Up The Pace
Creed is more consistently good than the Rocky franchise ever was, despite being its successor. As sports thrillers, emotional dramas, and action-packed motivational fables, the Rocky and Creed movies moved a world to get off the sofa and make an effort to change their lives. However, while the Rocky movies suffered the Hollywood upheaval of the ’80s and ’90s, fluctuating hugely in tone, genre, and quality, Creed always knew its idenтιтy. Rocky II wasn’t bad, but Creed II was amazing, proving that Creed had learned many lessons from its predecessor.
After Creed 3, I’m Confident That Creed 4 Will Be Just As Good As The First Three
Creed 4 Has Huge Potential
I loved every Rocky movie for what it was, despite the flaws of the later additions, but I’m feeling quite confident that Creed 4 will actually be a genuinely amazing sequel to Creed III. Creed II beat Rocky II, while Creed III maintained the quality of the first two Creed movies, exceptionally. Meanwhile, Rocky III felt a bit like more of the same, without adding anything much of new or original value to the boxing drama recipe. Creed‘s expansion plan doesn’t seem to have the same issues Rocky had, so fans can be optimistic about the sequel franchise’s future.
Sylvester Stallone, who played Rocky Balboa and also created the Rocky franchise, was never sure about when to end it. This was obvious, especially in Rocky IV and Rocky V, which are so radically different, it os like they belong to a different franchise each. Creed wisely copies the original Rocky movie in many ways but opts for consistency going forward, unlike Rocky, which played around with different directions trying to find its relevance. Creed 4 will keep building on the story of Creed III, keeping the fans that have stayed with the series since 2015.
