This hilarious Star Wars video proves Obi-Wan Kenobi is still beating Anakin Skywalker with the high ground, 20 years after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Of all Obi-Wan Kenobi quotes in Star Wars, his warning to Anakin that he had the high ground during their fight on Mustafar is one of the most iconic. Beyond just people being a popular meme, though, this line actually signaled Obi-Wan’s defeat of Anakin/Darth Vader and very nearly Vader’s death.
Evidently, Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor loves this reference just as much as everyone else does, based on this TikTok video posted by fuji_sk8rat. In the video, McGregor can be seen signing a hat for a fan, but he insists on signing above Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen’s autograph, “trying to get the high ground on him.”

Although this is a hilarious moment, it also goes to show just how iconic Revenge of the Sith (and the other prequel trilogy movies) has become.
The Prequel Trilogy Has Only Become More Iconic With Time
After Initial Backlash, The Prequels Have Become Some Of The Most Beloved Star Wars Movies
When they were first released, there were a number of complaints about the Star Wars prequel trilogy, which ranged from the storyline to the dialogue (and countless other things in between). This unfortunately led to harsh criticism of the movies’ actors, especially Jake Lloyd, Ahmed Best, and Hayden Christensen, in addition to pushback against George Lucas’ new ideas. Thankfully, in the decades since, the prequels have begun to be seen in a much more positive light.
In fact, there is now considerably more nostalgia for these movies, and many think of the prequels as some of Star Wars’ best movies. This has been clearest in light of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen’s recent returns to Star Wars—McGregor in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Christensen in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka. Both actors were met with plenty of fanfare when they returned to these roles, and many remain hopeful that they will be seen in upcoming additions to Star Wars movies and TV shows as well.
Our Take On The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy
I’m So Glad These Movies (And Actors) Are Finally Getting The Love They Deserve
As a mᴀssive fan of the prequel trilogy, and especially of McGregor and Christensen, I couldn’t be more delighted that the prequels are finally seen for the iconic movies that they are and are getting the love they always deserved. Christensen has long been heavily criticized for his portrayal of Anakin in the prequels, but the adoration of Christensen and his work in this role has grown considerably—so much so that many are holding their breath to see if he will return once again in Ahsoka season 2.
This announcement may be just around the corner, as Star Wars Celebration 2025 is only a few weeks away, and Christensen is confirmed to be appearing. Whether Christensen and McGregor return once more to Star Wars or not, though, it has been wonderful to see the appreciation for both actors grow. As this TikTok video makes clear as well, the actors themselves also continue to love these roles, based on Ewan McGregor’s reference to Obi-Wan Kenobi defeating Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
