Verity: Release Date, Cast, Story & Everything We Know About The Colleen Hoover Adaptation

Colleen Hoover’s best-selling romantic thriller Verity is getting the Hollywood treatment, and the star-studded adaptation is already set for a 2026 release. Hoover’s novels have already found great success onscreen with the release of the controversial 2024 film, It Ends with Us, and Verity is aiming to capture some of the magic once again. The shocking novel follows an author named Lowen who is hired to finish a novel by best-selling scribe Verity Crawford after an accident leaves her unable to write. However, Lowen begins digging into Verity’s life and discovers that things aren’t exactly as they seem.

Striking while the iron is still H๏τ, several of Colleen Hoover’s books are currently being adapted or have been already, and it’s clear that her works translate to the large and small screen quite well. However, it remains to be seen if Hoover’s success with It Ends With Us in 2024 was from legitimate interest or due to the myriad of BTS controversies that surrounded the project. This puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the upcoming Verity adaptation to perform well, but with stars like Anne Hathaway attached, there’s little doubt that it will gain traction.

It remains to be seen if Verity will suffer from much audience overlap when it comes to the aforementioned franchise films.

Anne Hathaway Leads An All-Star Ensemble

In the book, Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling author who meets Jeremy Crawford, the husband of best-selling writer Verity Crawford. Following his wife’s incapacitation due to an accident, Jeremy enlists Lowen to finish Verity’s final novel. However, when Lowen begins digging through Verity’s manuscript, she discovers a myriad of shocking confessions from the author.

Lowen starts to form a romantic relationship with the troubled Jeremy, and a very Colleen Hoover-like series of twists and turns lead to a truly shocking climax.

A twisting mystery then unfolds in which Verity herself becomes the main suspect in a series of strange events. Meanwhile, Lowen starts to form a romantic relationship with the troubled Jeremy, and a very Colleen Hoover-like series of twists and turns lead to a truly shocking climax.
