After Captain America: Brave New World, I’ve Figured Out The Perfect Way For Marvel To Make The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Season 2

Marvel Studios may have used Captain America: Brave New World to set up the perfect story for a follow-up season to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, should the MCU continue the grounded Phase 4 series. After Avengers: Endgame, 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier marked Sam Wilson’s official evolution into his new role of Captain America, which continued in 2025’s Captain America: Brave New World. It seems as though Sam Wilson’s story will only continue on the big-screen, but The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 still has the perfect plot.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was a strong first solo adventure for both Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes. Wilson’s story continues in Captain America: Brave New World, and Bucky Barnes will be returning in 2025’s Thunderbolts*, but it would also be great to see a new story brought to life in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 – though this тιтle would surely be changed. Brave New World developed one huge new character that deserves more attention in the MCU, so would be great to see him return.

Isaiah Bradley’s Story Is My Favorite Part Of Captain America: Brave New World

Carl Lumbly Is Incredible As Isaiah Bradley In The MCU

Isaiah Bradley in prison in Captain America Brave New World

Carl Lumbly debuted as Isaiah Bradley in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where he was revealed to have become a super-soldier in the 1950s, but was imprisoned by the United States government, who feared the repercussions of a Black Captain America. Captain America: Brave New World finally acknowledged Isaiah Bradley’s career as an official Captain America, which makes him an even more important piece of the MCU’s history. Now that he’s confirmed to be the “Forgotten Captain America,” Isaiah Bradley’s story needs to be continued.

Captain America: Brave New World featured a very emotional narrative for Isaiah Bradley, as he was put back in jail for supposedly carrying out an ᴀssᴀssination attempt on President Thaddeus Ross. It was soon revealed that he was working under the control of Samuel Sterns’ Leader, being manipulated behind the scenes just as he had been by the United States government. This tragic turn of events demands elaboration in a future MCU project, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 would be the perfect opportunity for this to happen.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Season 2 Could Fill In Huge Gaps In The MCU

Isaiah Bradley’s Story Can Be Developed In A New MCU Series

While Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed its development, a second season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would be the perfect place to develop both Isaiah Bradley’s story and the continuing conflict within Bucky Barnes. Season 1 ended with the тιтle card changing to Captain America and the Winter Soldier, and since Bradley is now officially a historical Captain America, he would be a fantastic focus of this series. This could take the form of a prequel series, exploring Isaiah Bradley’s origin story as a super-soldier and his battle against the Winter Soldier.

Isaiah Bradley mentioned in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that his spar with Bucky Barnes ended with him taking half the Winter Soldier’s metal arm. This fight, the lead-up to it and its aftermath would be brilliant to explore in a prequel series. This could show more of Bucky Barnes’ time with HYDRA, show the after effects of Steve Rogers’ sacrifice from Captain America: The First Avenger, and delve deeper into Isaiah Bradley’s tragic history in the MCU, which deserves far more attention than it has received so far.

Isaiah Bradley Deserves A Lot More Attention In The MCU

Isaiah Bradley Is One Of The MCU’s Most Important & Relevant Characters

Isaiah and Eli Bradley coming to the Captain America museum in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was one of the first major MCU projects to directly explore racial themes, which made it one of the most relevant, important and poignant Marvel Studios stories. While these themes were sidelined somewhat in Captain America: Brave New World, though still evident, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2 would be the perfect place to continue them. Exploring Isaiah Bradley’s history as a Black super-soldier who was falsely imprisoned would contribute to one of the MCU’s most powerful and unfortunately believable storylines.

Isaiah Bradley hasn’t received a lot of notice in the MCU so far, but he is central to the development of the Captain America mantle, and so should be examined in much greater detail beyond The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Captain America: Brave New World. This could also develop the story of Isaiah’s grandson, Elijah Richardson’s Eli Bradley, who becomes a prominent member of the Young Avengers in Marvel Comics. With Marvel beginning to rely on more multiple-season TV shows, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would be a great place to start.
